“Gutless. Never actually flew. They say it can run with a 2200 3s battery but it’s really too heavy with that size. Even a 130c rated battery could t get it to stay airborne more than 3 seconds.”

“The Freewing F-8 Crusader goes together easily and flies great with the recommended 1800 3-cell. You might want to adjust the aileron expo to calm down the roll. She can be a bit twitchy. However she is light and fast and handles the wind just fine.”

“INITIAL THOUGHTS and PERKS - First off this plane is an amazing starter and has all of what a starter plane should have. This plane incorporates speed as well as scale look into a beginner edf. Some good edfs like the F9F sold by freewing are good but simply no other beginner edf looks as good as this plane does in the air. I own a large amount of edfs if not almost an obsessive amount, when it comes to my 64mm fleet this plane is by far on top and definitely one of my favorites. The speed of this plane is nice for the size and looks very scale. One note I would add is that flying without gear is very very nice. The speed improves as well as the look of the plane. A really cool thing though is the fact that there are pretty much no rc f8 crusaders wether in foam or kit available to the average pilot so this is definitely an interesting find!FLIGHT AREA AND LANDING/TAKEOFF - Flight area I would say is a medium size field. 100 ish feet to take off and land as well. This plane though a smaller edf, still likes to take nice long turns which is one of the reasons I like this aircraft. So do make sure to be able to have space in abundance. BATTERY AND FLIGHT TIME - I am using an HRB 3s 1800 and I usually fly full open. I get an average of 2 minutes on the flight and if I were to be more conservative on throttle you can expect 2:30. Do remember this tiny jet doesn't have so much ease of using bigger batteries so light and short flight times are normal. Though I have no doubt some of yall will be able to find ways to put larger batteries in there :)DOWNFALL - The only downfalls of this plane I can notice is hand launching alone is a little harder as well as the fact this plane is not super easily available to do heavy aerobatics. By that I mean being able to easily do scale maneuvers without stalling out. Also though not necessarily a bad it takes a while to gain speed when coming out of a dive or loop so make sure to do this high up.CONCLUSION- Conclusively this plane is a very good scale looking beginner. I love the mixture of speed and the scale look that freewing has incorporated into this plane. I would so much rather train on a scale looking jet than a sport jet. Trust me this is an amazing beginner and a perfect plane for its price. Running without gear is also good and makes it fly better. This plane is also able to pull tight circles if you decide to yank and bank. Though the addition of a rudder would make this plane a little more interesting at the end of the day this is an incredible starter and one at an amazing price point.IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE!!!!! - This plane has no rudder and uses elevon systems so the elevators and ailerons are connected to the same servo making them pretty much inseparable.”

“Got this from a friend. Beatifull scala plane. I made the lights from gt power on it and looks even better. Tried to install a Gyro on it but didnot work correctly. A normall gyro has difficulty with this elevon setup. Looks gratis and flies nice.Great plane for the money. Goed job.”

“Terrible model concering CG.I installed the wheels and a gyro as an extra and used the recommended stuff to finish it.It is impossible to get a good CG with that model. Totally topheavy and I can not find a way to fix it well. The compartement is too small to find a better way to place it inside.Never again such a small model.I wonder what components other used to make it fly well.Would not recommend it.”
