“When I received my F-8 I couldn't believe the detail and quality it was for $99, flys best with an Admiral 3S 1800mAh battery. I have done several mods on mine you can see on Hobby Squawk. I will be getting another one as soon as they're back in stock.”
“Still building mine...going a bit different route than stock. Noted were the foam hinges, they do need a bit of reinforcement for longevity. Not sure why the outside hole on all of the control horns are so large. Adds lots of slop to the linkage. Overall, a really nice looking bird and excited to get her in the air. As always, nice work MotionRC!”
“Overall very nice, except fuselage aft of wing is a little short for scale, and the tailpipe is way oversized. I flew F-8's with VF-162, just as the model is shown.”
“Fun, simple EDF hand launch jet.Amazing scale detail, easy to build and set up the elavons.I put in a 40A ESC and fly it with a 4s lipo. It will cure your need for speed.”
“I've been flying WWII warbirds for about 5 years now, all prop planes. I've always been EDF Curious but wasn't willing to spend a bunch of money on a nice scale jet fighter, and crunch up on the first flight. Enter the Crusader. Under $100 high wing, inexpensive batteries, and designed from the start to be an introductory EDF for pilots like me coming over with prop experience.Build was straight forward, kinda old school all glue assembly. It's a good looking plane, and while the cheater holes in then fuselage are a bid distracting, it's not a deal breaker. It is advertised as stand-off scale, after all. The foam, paint and decals are perfect, no alligator bumps at all! First hand launch was a fail, I didn't throw it hard enough to get air over the surfaces, and buggered up the air scoop a bit. Not the planes fault, that was all on me. Next three flights were perfect, a few clicks of up trim was all it needed. Once it got up to speed, it was easy to fly, and the elevator and ailerons being tied together work very well. It is relatively easy to fly, but it's not a beginner plane, you need to know how to fly R/C, so don't buy this as a trainer if you are new to R/C. About the only thing I don't like is that air scoop on the bottom of the fuselage. It's foam, and it is going to take some abuse if you fly it as designed, and belly land it. It really should be hard plastic, like the nose cone is, and it should have some belly protection. Not a big enough issue to take away a star, but you should probably reinforce it, and put some type of skid up front on the bottom. I used an old control horn glued to the plywood gear area, and glassed over the foam for strength. Great job, Motion & Freewing! I can't wait to see what other Park Jets are in the pipeline!”
“well its my first time buy from motionrc... and i have to say it was very plesant f8 crusader came fast to ottawa, canada assembly was easy, took it out the next day flew it on 3s 1500 lipo and 2200 3s fly's like a dream little rocket.https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2977450-Freewing-64mm-F-8-Crusader/page13my review very impressed with the service.. will buy again”
