This plane flies on rails. It is fast, maneuverable, and has the gentlest stalls of any plane with this high of wing loading. The only downside is that you cant use a larger 6s than a 5000 mah due to the thick battery compartment walls. Other than that great plane. The gear is awesome and works perfectly. The best part is the paint scheme. I love the Camo and the navy livery. it has lots of scale details and is crazy powerful. It has almost 2:1 power to weight ratio. Also, super good price point. Will only buy from motion now. Great job Motion

This jet took some figuring out to fly. When the gear is down the plane banks and yaws so hard it is almost uncontrollable. I have resorted to belly landings because of this. Speed is the name of the game with this bird. It has high wing loading so it needs speed all the time which is fine with me. Looks great and is wicked fast. One other note, out of the box one of my aileron hinges was not glued in.

If you're willing to tolerate some older-school foamy nonsense (fuselage needed immediate reinforcement to stop foam flexing / cracking around battery area), battery hatch (fit was poor and tended to come off on landing), you can end up with a very fast, good-looking EDF at a significant discount from the newer and/or larger options. this thing is small in the air versus a 90mm, and fast, so keeping it reasonably close takes diligence and courage in turns. Fun to fly, not that hard to land, but does require some speed with its high wing loading. It's also nice not to have a buggy blue box to deal with; everything plugs directly into the receiver. The gear is very simple. No lights, but you can add those yourself for a fraction of the price you'd have to pay to have them built-in, as they typically are with higher-priced jets.

Beautiful jet! I flew the real T 38 for 3 years so I’m partial. Model is small, camouflaged, and fast. Therefore it’s harder to see a keep track of than anything I’ve flown before. I used an Amiral 4500 for first flight to keep weight down. I also put two bigger tires on the wings. Plenty of room in gear well. It flew fine off short grass. I used 20 mm deflection for aileron and 50% proportional. A little touchy for the dating phase. Full flap, power off landing worked well. Holding nose high attitude and touching down on mains with nose wheel still a little in the air leaves plenty of controllability and stall margin. Very honest jet! Keep it close!

Though I haven't flown the model I am pleased with it so far considering its price point. I liked the ideal that everything plugs directly into my receiver. One issue I had was I believe I used to much glue installing the landing gear. Added my glue to the socket were the actuator rests which is thin compared to the rest of the wing. Spread it around from there and must have left too much in that spot. When I came back to the plane the next day that socket area had gatored on the top of the wing as the glue cured. Very small area, approx. 1/2 X 1 1/2. Please avoid my mistake. With all of the surface area available for gluing it may be best to just apply glue to the side wall surface area for the actuator socket avoiding what is the lower wing surface there. Then obliviously glue all the other areas where the gear plate seats into the wing.I did have to shave/sand some foam from lower canopy surface to get that to seat better as well. Seemed like front section of fuselage that gets glued on was pitched ever so slightly down causing the issue. Canopy would pop open very easily when I would bounce the aircraft nose sitting on its mains simulating a slightly hard landing/rough field take off. I super glued 2 thin washers to back side of catch plate as well to make it more secure. The factory catch plate sets in about 2/3 mm instead of being flush which may have eliminated the problem. Maybe I should have secured canopy to aircraft as that front fuse section cured to the aft section as well. This may have resulted in better alignment. If you try this on your assembly I would just caution to mask the joint were the canopy rests against the fuse so you are no inadvertently gluing your canopy to the fuse with bleed out glue.Be careful of the plastic nose cone as well. It will not take much to snap it off if you stand the aircraft on its nose. Luckily mine was a clean snap and glued back on with no noticeable damage. I've stood my FMS Avanti S on its nose numerous times working on it and not had this happen... and be careful of missiles. Don't install until you are done and remove them when working on the model, they are a softer foam and ding easy.Look, I love the F5, it was one of the first static models I ever built... If this thing fly's well I believe I will be very satisfied with my purchase. I've had her outside for some mid low throttle taxing and the canopy is staying secure and she doesn't seem to wonder (got a decent length driveway). She is a classic aircraft design and this model represents it VERY well.OH, and McDonald's black coffee stirrer straws make good scale guns in the nose when cut to proper length, just slide them in with foam tack.Full disclosure, this was my first Freewing assembly as well.

Arrived a little late, due to Christmas season. Well packaged. A little more assemble work than most Freewing Jets. Performed the maiden the next morning. No trim needed. Followed the recommended C/G in the manual. Great little flyer. Flying buddies at the field really liked the looks and performance.Overall, very happy with finish, appearance, and ease of flying.
