“The build took about 2 and half hours . Pretty much straight forward. Although the the wings are removable for transport , It's not practical . I have about 10 flights on my Mig-21 and I am extremely happy. It has great speed and agility , very wide envelope . Flys like it is on rails . I fly mine with the drop tanks on and it tracks well plus helps with orientation . I am averaging 3: 40 mixed throttle on a 5000 50C battery. Ailerons are very sensitive Keep your eye on it or it will disappear .”
“I wanted to add to previous review. I had the power quit at 3.74V (17% left) 2 times in a row. It seems like the ESC is set with low voltage cutoff - usually the default for fixed wing planes is no low voltage cutoff. I added a separate 10A BEC to overcome this and that will give me control even though the motor might not have enough power to fly. Outstanding airplane with great performance!”
“The EDF jets just keep getting better from MotionRC! One can tell that a lot of thought went into this model. It's an easy build but will take about 2.5 hours to complete. The beefy landing gear will take a firm landing with ease. The book control settings are too much and can over control the plane. I reduced the elevator to 50% throw with 60 expo and reduced the ailerons to 45% throw with 70 expo. For the 3rd flight I installed a Eagle Super II and it flew like there was no wind on a windy day. The plane can be flow at about 30 alpha for landing (with a little power and flaps) and will stop in about 30 feet - very impressive. I'm using Admiral 4000 mah batteries and get 3 minutes of flight time with throttle management (I just ordered Admiral 5000 batteries for longer flight times). Now, if MotionRC would come up with a great flying F-4 Phantom II, I would buy them all day long. Whenever I buy for this hobby, I go to MotionRC first because of their great service!”
“I ordered mine when they went up for pre-order, got the plane and took the next day off from work to get it assembled and ready to fly. I've got about 6 hours in the assembly. I might be slower than many when it comes to the assembly but I'm never in a hurry and I enjoy the process. The plane went together easily and the instructions were better than many I've seen. The wire hook thing they give you to pull the servo wires from the wing and tail to the front of the plane worked really well, I had no issues with the wiring.I am using an Admiral 5000 in the plane and it balanced well with the battery at the rear of the battery try. I've only got two flights on it and it flew well. The aileron throws in the book were too much for me so I lessened the control throw and that worked much better, I'm using 30% expo. I'm expecting to get 3:30 - 4:00 minutes at mostly full throttle, this should bring each cell down to about 3.75 volts.”
