“Unsure of quality. After installation and upon retraction the gear did not retract enough to completely close the gear doors. The gear will retract completely if the gear doors are not in play i.e. the spring is removed. Apparently the small gear door springs are too strong for the gear servo to overcome.”
“I use this Avanti S Nose LG due to its larger 5mm connecting strut pin in my A-4 Skyhawk. The very long moment arm of the A-4, increases the aft stresses on the pin during landings. This larger diameter pin helps with reducing the stress. The total length of the LG is the same as the original A-4 nose gear. A longer pin would help and is the reason I give this LG 4 stars rather than 5.”
