“Overall an excellent EDF - flies great, looks good, very easy to land, gear is tough and forgiving in case you don't grease it.The only problem I see with this jet is that the nose gear spring is not stiff enough. This leads to the nose dipping in medium grass or on bumps - so much that it ripped the nose gear doors right of on the maiden flight. Also lost the nose cone once on a bump during takeoff.My solution to this has been to leave the nose gear doors off and insert about 3-4 mm in washers to the nose gear spring assembly (easy to do - just remove the first c-clip on the gear) to make it compress no so easily. Since then no issues. At some point, I will try reinstalling the nose gear doors.”

“I love the way this jet flies, looks, and sounds. I have one major issue. The main landing gear have failed 3 times now, and that’s in less than 10 flights.The right main gear before the plane was flown. It stopped retracting in testing after the jet was assembled. Motion sent me a new gear under warranty. Then after 3 flights the left gear failed. I ordered a new one. (Warranty doesn’t cover it after the jet has been flown.) Now after 4 more flights the replacement right gear has failed again. The drive system in the retract has failed. The motor runs in the gear, but the gear drive is stripped.I also own a Freewing L-39 from Motion. I believe it has the same gear as the Avanti. I have 74 flights on my L-39 without even own gear failure. Both planes are flown on the same grass field. Disappointed!”

“Plane went together easily and flies great. I just wish Freewing would get their act together and publish realistic throws. Even the advertised low rates are way too aggressive.”
