“Great flying jet, easy assembly, looks great in the air and on the ground. My only complaints are that the nose gear needs some more reinforcement. I highly recommend 3D printing the enforcement bracket off of thingiverse.com and installing before flying, especially off of grass. My second is the top magnetic avionics dome came off mine and for some stupid reason you can’t buy it separately. You have to buy the whole fuselage just to get that piece. Absolutely ridiculous that you have to do that. So make sure you don’t lose it or ruin it. Other than those two things, I highly recommend it”

“I received the jet on Wednesday and maidened it on Saturday. The finish of the jet is beautiful, being smooth all over. The decals are expertly applied and the assembly was straightforward. There are some things to watch out for.1. Being a delta, this jet requires very little aileron throw. The recommended throws in the manual are excessive. I set mine at 9 mm with 30 percent expo and it's very maneuverable like that. Elevator is set at 15 mm up and down. Take off flaps are set at 1 inch and landing flaps at 2 inches. 2. The CG that is recommended (195 mm) makes it very prone to enter alpha lock when flown slowly during landing. I set mine at around 188 mm and it does not exibit this sudden pitch up when coming in slowly for landing. I found that it's not nose heavy. In fact, I had to add some clicks of DOWN elevator trim to achieve hands off level flight.3. I fly with the missiles only. I found that the big tanks shift the CG rearward and tend to get on the way on landing. To me, orientation is not a problem. 4. It is sensitive to trim changes. Just about 5 clicks or corrective trim are needed to achieve trimmed flight. 5. This is a jet that is very forgiving to fly. it can chug along the sky at around 1/2 throttle. However, it can go over 90 mph at full throttle.6. However, this is not a high alpha jet like the F-16. You have to come down for a landing in a very shallow angle-just like a regular sport jet. At the CG I specified, the jet won't do the kangaroo bounce of death nor will it go into alpha lock. 7. Since it's a delta with a rather short wingspan with a landing gear that is not wide, you need to perform the steering on the ground with the utmost finesse. No hard turns on the runway. No sudden corrective turns. You must execute all corrective and steering movements with just a touch of input. When landing, let the jet track straight as it slows down. If you must correct, just add a gentle touch. If you turn just a tad too hard, it will tip over even if you are taxing at a rather slow speed. 8. This jet, like the Avanti, does carry momentum very well, and this applies when landing. Try to land as far as the end of the runway as you can because it likes to keep rolling even when you shut off the power. And again, if you do an abrupt turn to avoid the end of the runway, the jet will tip over. 9. This is not one of those sport jets where you can bank and yank and fly wildly like the Avanti 80. It needs to be flown scalelike. This means wide, nice loops; no sudden moves, etc. If you try to loop tightly, the jet will tend to drop a wing. The loops need to be nice and wide-just like the full size jet does them. Roll rate is scalelike with the 9 mm aileron throw. It is very forgiving of stalls when flown properly and scalelike. 10. The CG of 185 to 190 mm can be easily achieved if you place the 5000 mAh 6s battery all the way forward (right behind the control plate where the wires are attached. The batteries I use weigh 727 grams 11. The decals have been applied in the factory so if you have another scheme in mind you will have to do some work. 12. Evem though it has gentle characteristics and a rather wide flight envelope, it is not a beginner EDF jet. I recommend that you get some experience with jets like the Avanti or the Viper so you can get used to flying EDFs before flying the A-4. 13. At 185 to 190 mm CG, I don't use any flap to elevator mix. It does not need it. You could add about 3 mm of up elevator to flap mix to help you maintain a nice glide slope on landing.Great EDF.”
“100+ flights and really like this airframe. My go-to plane on cross wind(y) days because it's so inherently stable. Added AS3X+ and it's almost hands off and lands like a feather with the CG pushed back. While the landing gear is robust, I would recommend softening the suspension by removing and stretching the springs on the mains, took about 5 mins. Much more shock absorption and landings are smooth. Great product Motion!”

“Nice rendition of the A-$ Skyhawk platform, you get to fly two variants depending on the day, with or without avionics hump. It's nice to have that option. Flys really well, looks great in flight and on the ground it has the right look.Very happy with this one.”

“Flew it for first time. Took off on grass with no problem with 6 cell battery. Plenty of power. Flaps slowed airplane and did not pitch up while landing. My 1st military jet, but not my Last.”

“Plenty of power for grass takeoffs. Problem was not enough elevator so it did not clear the trees at the end of the field. Smashed into the tree and was totaled”
