“I installed a Spektrum AS3X receiver in the plane and it handles any wind or turbulence with authority. I also installed a V shaped nose block against the front landing gear and it holds the gear from bending during a hard landing. I have over 25ea flights on the plane without damage to the landing gear. The performance 70mm motor gives me quick power for vertical climbs and other aerobatic manuevers. The plane is more sturdy than the Horizon Hobby Viper Jet. I would break off the nose on the Viper Jet on several occasions, but never had an issue with the Hawk during landings. The wing wiring is easier to install on the Hawk than the Viper.”

“While MotionRC credited my return to my AMEX, they were unwilling to send me a return label where they payed the return shipping. In my case it was not obvious that I did not need to buy a set of safe landing gear because the airplane already had them. Even with this issue, MotionRC again refused to cover the return shipping. Other RC vendors supply return shipping routinely.”

“Tried flying an EDF jet previously and failed miserably. This plane was great. It is quick, handles well, flies great. The flaps really help those take-offs and landings. The build was simple and straight forward. It took longer to install the receiver and AS3S gyro than to build it. I set up the controls by the book. The only problem I encountered was, following the suggestion on the build video to run the wires under the battery platform, I put a screw through one of my servo extensions when screwing it back into place. Oops. Fortunately I had a replacement. I took the advice of Ed, help desk, and balanced the plane upright with wheels down. I couldn't be happier. I would strongly suggest this as a first EDF for those that have experience with more complicated prop planes. My only negative comment is within the description it states that the hinges are nylon. In truth only the ailerons and flaps have nylon hinges installed. Nylon pin hinges are provided for the elevators and rudder but have to be installed by the buyer. I have provided pre and post maiden flight pictures.”

“This is a quality model. Assembly was very quick. She lifts off in a very short distance, is quite fast but also has some good slow speed handling. She is VERY responsive so plan on flying her with reduced rates and lots of expo. Am getting about 5 min flights on 4500mah packs.”

“love this jet!!! fly's wonderful!!! make sure you upgrade the landing gear when you buy her. I installed an AR636 sport receiver in her and went to the Spektrum website and down loaded the Eflite viper onto the receiver made a few adjustments and she fly's like a dream and has safe!! a lot of PPL talk bad about gyro's but I love them! any questions on how to set it up email me!! you will need to get the programing cable for that receiver. I have installed safe in every plane I buy!!”

“Flies brilliantly and quality is great. Recomend you check and thread lock all screws prior to first flight as some of landing gear grub screws were loose out of the box allowing the legs to rotate slightly.”
