“Brace yourself for a long and frustrating assembly with the wires and pushrods. If you make a mistake pulling the wires in, DO NOT try to pull them back out...they will get stuck 1/2 way down the fuselage and you will never get them through. Pull all 3 at once but stagger the leads to the servo connectors go through 1 at at time...it is tight and tough to get them through. The assembly screws need a large head on the driver to keep from stripping them out...but the shafts for the driver are skinny...so you need a big head skinny driver to make that work. The pushrods are a real pain to get on all the control surfaces. I think I might have received a used/returned plane. The canopy is all scratched up, dent in 1 wing, dents on one side of the wing saddle. Hopefully motion takes care of the canopy and I will live with the rest.If I was rating this plane on the 1 hour assembly that took 3 it would get a 1. BUT, I waited to review until I flew it. WOW!Maiden COMPLETE! First EDF ever and yes it is different. I have been flying for over 30 years and it is different...SCARY. BUT the reward of the 3 flights almost erased the pain of assembly.Man, this thing is a rocket ship. Flies out of sight really fast. Did full throttle 2 times in the 3 flights and saw 105 amps on the telemetry with a 35C 5800 RT. Other than that, flew 1/2 to 2/3s the rest of the time. Long flight time...5+ minutes on RT 5800 batteries and came down with 3.86s. Wonder what kind of amp draw I will see on my 5500 70c RT packs. When you come into land with 1/2 flap and gear and cut the throttle complexly this thing FLOATS forever. Hit the center line on the rubber runway all 3 times and it rolled out straight down the runway...just as it did on takeoff. It tracks very well. It took a lot of right aileron trim and some rudder to get it flying straight, but nothing that made it unflyable straight off the ground. All in all thrilled with the performance of the plane. Hopefully Motion will make the canopy right and all will be good. This is my first freewing bird and what really stood out to me was the paint is really nice and the gear seems very rock solid. Nice to have that correct off the bat rather than having to upgrade or just deal with it. Really tired of dealing with bad gear.”

“I like early jets, so I was optimistic when Motion RC/Freewing released the T-33. My optimism was completely satisfied. The model arrived will packaged and damage free. Assembly could only be easier if they sent someone along with the model to put it together for you.The parts all fit well and went together as intended. Pulling a few wires through the fuselage and less than a dozen screws and I had a T-33 sitting on the workbench. I used an Admiral 10 channel Rx because that is what I had on hand. Hook up is straight forward and the ribbon wire harness from the wings to the fuse makes connection very easy. With an Admiral 4500 battery all the way forward the plane balanced just barely nose heavy at the suggested CG.I maidened at my club field, which is short well kept grass. The jet used about 200 feet of runway and easily lifted off using about 30% flaps. It took a couple of click of right and up to trim the plane to fly straight and level at just over half throttle. This plane flies like it is on rails. It looks and sounds great the whole time it is in the air.Landings are glass smooth using the same 30% flaps I used for take off. It makes me look like I am a way better pilot than I actually am.Comments from club members we all positive and I'm guessing a couple more of these will show up on the flight line in the near future. My only complaint, and this is a matter of personal preference, not really anything bad about the plane is that I wish Freewing, as well as other manufacturers, would just drop the decals in the box to be applied or omitted by the purchaser. I plan to letter this plane as a WVANG ship and I dislike having to remove or paint over factory applied decals.Overall, I think Motion and Freewing hit a home run with their T-33.”

“Purchased the USAF T-33 Shooting Star and re-finished with Callie Graphics in the Sanders / Brickert version of the Canadian Air Forces Red Knight T-133 Silver Star demonstration aircraft.Assembly is a simple bolt together construction, which requires very little time. The center of gravity (C/G) was located at the molded markings with an Admiral 5000 mAh lipo pack. I set up the control surfaces to the recommended high rate throws and programmed 25% expo to the aileron and elevator. Mid and full down flap were also set with the recommended down elevator mix. First flight was straight into a 10 m/h headwind. When full power was applied, the model tracked straight and lifted off smoothly and quickly established a positive climb. The model continued to accelerate while climbing as I began a gradual right turn to stay over the field. I leveled out and reduced power to 3/4 throttle, establishing a steady cruising speed in level flight. A few clicks of up trim were needed as he model flew a little nose heavy. This condition was preferred for the initial flights as an aft C/G setting is nearly always uncontrollable.Elevator control was effective at the recommended settings. Ailerons were surprisingly sensitive, even at 3/4 throttle cruising speed. Model can maintain its speed for a long distance in a power off glide with a slight nose down attitude. Initiated throttle reduction in the set up for landing far sooner during the turn onto the downwind leg rather than the base to final leg. Full flaps deployed and held a little throttle with nose level approach while maintaining a consistent rate of decent. A little throttle added to arrest the decent as the mains touched down. Overall a well behaved, stable model. Great power availability. Great little sport jet.”

“All round a fantastic aircraft. The looks and finish are spot on. Assembly is super simple, no glue, just screws. This thing floats like a glider, a great first EDF for sure! The only issue I found was in the manual. It states with an Admiral 6s 5000 the battery should be placed at 70mm on the battery tray. This puts the aircraft really nose heavy, my pack is sat around 30mm to achieve CG.”

“Ok guys, I have the F22 90mm, L39, F86, BAE Hawk, F16, the regular Avanti, and the HP Avanti and this T33 is one of my favorites. The fit and finish is great. I had my doubts, thinking that there is no way a jet that looks this good can fly good. I was wrong, this jet flies terrific and has no bad habits. It takes off grass with plenty of power and tracks like it’s on rails. It’s easy to see and lands like a typical low wing pattern plane. I use a 4000 mah battery and get 3-3.5 minutes with some left for aborted landings. You will love this plane and really enjoy it! Another winner from Motion RC!”

“Got back to flying a month ago after a 24 years break. Bought the T bird for my second plane (started back with a hangar 9 meridian). Excellent flying experience with it. Found out on the fourth flight that the landing gear (the right main gear) wasn’t glued properly from factory. It resulted in a cartwheeling crash with minor battle damages. Glued everything back with tac-foam glue and epoxy and the bird is still flying like new. Added a whistle in the tail pipe for increase jet like sounds and it works very well (Hair arm riser...).”
