“Very 1st aircraft I worked on when I joined the AF. Had to have it!!! Kit arrived with no defects. Assembly was very easy. Set up was fine. The manual says to mix down elev with flaps. I had to add up. No big deal. CG marking is on bottom of wing? CG'd mine inverted at recommended point. No issues with flying. Flight was Awesome! Good handling at all power ranges. Impressed how fast it was. Flew with a 5000mah 6s 50C Timer set at 5 min. With throttle management I had 24% battery left. This EDF was a Must to have in my collection.”

“I may be a bit of an outlier but this one won’t be my favorite. It is a beauty and the quality is outstanding. It flies just fine but the take-offs in grass are not impressive. The takeoff rolls are long and then the jet abruptly lifts and wobbles into stable flight. I even had to abort the maiden takeoff. The battery needs to be further back, it needs takeoff flaps, and it needs high rates on the elevator for takeoff ... and it still sucks to the ground until it’s ready, then the abrupt liftoff. I have many jets in this size and this one stands out in these ways. I did six or seven flights with lots of adjustments so this wasn’t just a maiden thing. Other than that, it’s really a good flier. It floats on landing which is not a problem. Very stable in ground effect and it stays down when it touches down. I used just a smidge of down elevator mixing with flaps and probably could have left that out. I like a more scale, gradual lift off and this one just won’t do it. Other than the weird delay in raising the landing gear (five seconds), I’m happy with the jet, just not five star happy. That gear thing cost a good bit of time in the build as I had to troubleshoot why the gear didn’t operate. This beauty gets plenty of attention at the field.”

“The T-33 is a stable flyer similar in characteristics to the L-39. Landings are similar with the gear handling touchdowns well. Unlike the BaE Hawk which tends to porpoise the T-33 is much easier to handle. My main problem was that the left gear was inadequately glued in place and popped out on the second landing. There were signs of glue on the plastic gear pocket but none on the foam, so either the glue was bad or allowed to dry before being inserted. This caused the right gear to collapse but fortunately not to break. Unfortunately I have runway rash on what was a pristine aircraft. I would recommend everyone do a simple pull test on their gear before flying.”
