“My favorite plane in 15 years of flying rc. The quality was top notch and the build was they way it should be. (Only took a few minutes even crawling on the floor looking for a dropped screw.) I've only flown it six times and each landing was butter because it is a dream to fly. It has been named "Mini Me" complete with Austin Powers decal from Callie Graphics thanks to a friend who has the 80mm Raptor. We fly together sometimes. A true show stopper. The only squawk is the reverse thrust is not very effective and it needs all our paved runway to stop. I fly it with 8ch AS3X+ receiver using adjustable gains. The plane is a laser in the air but dose need less gain at high speed or it wobbles. It can be flown fine without a gryo but I recommend SAFE PANIC RECOVERY on a switch because that dang low vis paint scheme really works. Orientation can be a problem and SAFE RECOVERY saved my bird once already. Overall, this is how everyone should make rc planes. Love it”

“I was torn between this jet and the 70mm F-16 and eventually went for this as the overall design (gear, quick release wings, sequenced nose gear doors) was newer and better and it's a more forgiving airframe than an F-16. I've had this jet now for almost a year and have put probably 15-20 flights on it, initially with a JP hobby EDF and now reverted back to the stock EDF. The JP EDF sounds great but the stock EDF is just much more powerful and a lighter feeling than the JP. I absolutely love this jet, it's unbelievably stable, especially on final. It's so fun to land. I set mine up using Two Brother's guide for the 90mm and it works so well that I didn't bother changing anything when he released his video on the 70mm. I run SMC 3400 packs and I think they're about perfect. I can get about 15mm behind cg with these packs or right on cg with a SMC 5900 HV pack (have not flown this pack), but I like to fly 5-10mm behind the marks right now. The flight time is excellent for such a small pack on a 70mm EDF, I wouldn't go higher than a 4400 pack. I think some SMC 4200/4900 HV packs would be perfect for this jet. I love the quick release wings but wish the connectors were built in and slid in when you attach the wing like the FMS jets. If Freewing combined their quick release wings with FMS style hands free connectors, they would win the field assembly game by miles, especially if they could do this with the horizontal stabs. I also upgraded the tires to dubro low bounce rubber tires (DUB175T nose, DUB200T mains) and they look and feel 10x better than stock, just had to drill out axles. This was my first jet (after a few prop planes) and I had no issues flying it, given the understanding of how jets need to be flown. Absolutely love this thing but with it had nav lights at the very least. Would love to try the 90mm one day!”

“Previous review I had crashed because of my mistake. However after receiving replacement parts, I'm very happy with the performance of the aircraft. Jet is quick, crisp, and very acrobatic. I've flown it dozens of times, and every time I come out with it a smile comes on my face. I get 4- and one-half minutes of flight time w/ a HRB 4000, and come down w/ appx. 28-30% left in the tank. Now you've got the 80mm F-22 --- Hmmm --- I wonder how it flies? Y'all need to stop, or you're gonna put me in the poor house!!!”

“This is one of the best flying 70mm jets I have owned. My first one I crashed due to wrong battery size, while it will fly on a 4000mah battery. But I changed to a 3000mah battery and what a difference. Like a new jet. I can get 3 to 5 minutes of flight time and talk about hi alpha!!!! Very stable in flight and landings are perfect on the mains and slow slow slow. Love the jet better than the 90mm by far.”
