I can recommend this aircraft to any experienced EDF pilot. It is very well flying once trimmed and flap to elevator mix has been set up.Important things that the manual isn't helpful with:- Flap to Elevator mix. I had a few scary moments in my maiden because I did not have one. When flaps are deployed the nose dives if you don't mix in some up elevator.- Cg illustration is very misleading. The listed 87mm is correct, but the illustration has the Cg drawn at 120mm or something. Much further back than it should be.Maiden post in Motion RC Fan Media: https://www.facebook.com/groups/motionrcfanmedia/permalink/437682623713324/

I recently finished building my Freewing twin 80mm F-14 EDF and I am blown away by how well this plane flies. This plane is hands down one of the best flying foam models out there. I like my Freewing 90mm F22 but this F-14, in my opinion is more fun to fly... But you have to set it up right... And the reward is worth it.So setup...I made some changes to the plane to get it how I wanted it. First, I used 80mm FMS EDFs that I balanced myself and Turnigy 100A escs. Next I hollowed out the foam in the battery bay so I could fit larger batteries. I also set it up very similarly to how Chris (RCGeek- thank you for the tips) has his F-14 setup and added a custom afterburner that my buddy Ran Grumer and I designed to get that simulated afterburner look. I also added a hobby Eagle gyro right over the CG under the F-14 hood where the swing mechanism resides. Finally, the electrical engineer in me did not like the single battery per speed controller setup. So I wired my batteries in parallel and my speed controllers in parallel. This way, both motors draw from both batteries all the time. This means 2 things: 1) batteries get used up fairly evenly; 2) the motors also have a bigger bank to draw from because of the synergy of the two packs in parallel. I think it is well worth it. I fly using 2x Hobby star 6500Mah packs so that I have a total capacity of 13000mah and this gets me 5-7 minute flights. Here is one such flight chasing Ray's (Gooniac33) mig21... Enjoy
