“Although the model looks good in the pictures it is made of the cheapest foam one can get. Motors were not working properly and Motion was of no help. Also had to realign the wings which did not open properly, Pass this one up.”

“So, I buy the F14, by the way I have several Free wing acft., I maidened it 2 weeks ago, she was alright but real sensitive in slow flight. I then go out today , 7-25-20 for some more flying, I flew the F16 and T33 perfect, I then take the F14 up, 2 spectrum 5000 mAh batts, a motion RC receiver, with sat receiver, all is well, ix12 is controlling her great, then I get the 1 minute to go, start my base to final, lower the flaps, slowing down, oh sh t , oh sh t, power , nope she rolled over and I lost her the o the tree gods. THIS ACFT HAS SH***Y LOW SPPED FLIGHT., Out 700 bucks..”

“On a 1-10 scale, I'd say it's about a 7-8. The mixing box is a bit clunky, and that's why. Having the ailerons still work with the wings swept gives an awkward roll moment, where there's quite a bit of stick movement where not a whole lot happens, then all of the sudden you get a big blast of roll. But that's about the only complaint I have. Because of that, I spent a lot of time mixing things on my radio, and pretty much only use the mixing board for the gear sequencing of the retracts. Flight time on a 5000mah pack is right at 4.5 minutes, any bigger packs, and the returns start to diminish with flying quality because of the weight. I've set mine up for full span flaps, with about 12% elevator mixed in to keep the nose up. It settles in nice like that. With the wings forward it's very maneuverable. It almost fly's like a trainer. With the wings back, and a decent pull on the stick, it rocks the wings a little, so being smooth with the wings swept is critical.Over all it's a great flying jet. It's heavy, so it fly's like it's heavy, but it does have a lot of power to help overcome the weight. I may be in the market for another one soon to ARF bash.”

“Had a problem with the right wing. When the wing was swung aft the bottom of the wing would rub on the top of fuselage. 4 washers did not solve the problem. Had to sand down the top of fuselage to get it to work. Shouldn’t have these problems with a $600 jet”

“I have some experience on a 4s F-18. When it was time to get a 6s jet, there was no mistaking it, I had to have the F-14.I believed that the stock power was going to be fine, and I was right. For someone with less experience, I wasn't expecting something overpowered. I used the stock setup with the 6s 4000mah 60c packs. I swapped out the stock BEC for a 20 amp, put 2x D85mg servos on the tail (one is counter clockwise) to have that extra torque and reliability, not to mention dampening some of the slop on the tailerons, and I also popped in the Eagle A3 Super Gyro. It flies comfortably on half throttle. I haven't tried loops with it yet, but I'd assume you really want to fly this within the envelope as to avoid any high speed stalls.I firmly believe this plane is 70% setup and the rest is a mix of nerves and experience. I do recommend you give as much up elevator travel as possible, because on my maiden flight I felt I didn't have quite enough up elevator to pitch the plane up. So just be careful and ensure you get as max travel as possible out of that elevator as one of the dual rate options. With the wings out, this plane does fly like a trainer as jets come, but it still requires proper power management. Do not get complacent here. When landing, come in level but it can use some high alpha if you really want to land it slowly. I chose to use the stock programming settings with 1 flap instead of full span flaps. With the wings swept it flies well too, although I'm using the gyro on that. I did look at RCGeek's setup but haven't used it yet. I think it flies fine on stock, but once again, that gyro is probably removing some of the wash when flying with the wings swept.Video link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GVroeSbplo”

“I bought this plane a year ago. I kept the plane stock, but changed the swept wing config to that from rcinformer. When i was building the plane, i noticed some play on the elevator servo. The elevator servo was replaced by MR for free. After i replaced it, i maidend it. The maiden went very well, and it flew great. After about 10 flight, the elevator servo’s startet to vibrate when in neutral, so i had to change them out with futaba’s. The landing gear on this plane is pretty sensetive to, the plastic landinggearunit tends to break, and give al lot of play after a harder landing. So although it flies good, this plane comes whit some mods, and maintenance when operating on grass”

“I’m a competent EDF pilot, and have many other brands such as HSD and Eflite. I recently purchased an F14 within the last month that quickly exhibited an electrical system problem of flaps being over extended and non responsive and the other control surfaces not responding correctly. A reconnect of the battery after the flight solved the problem. Was at Jet Jam this past weekend and it went non-responsive after activating the flaps and crashed. Just replaced it with a new F14 and saw a rudder servo stick hard left at initial power up. Unplugged the servo and appeared to fix. On maiden, as soon as I raised the gear the plane went hard left and crashed. Down two planes, 4 lipos, two receivers, and two gyros. Shame on me for trusting the brand.”

“I am just starting to build her. So far no problems. Every piece fits perfectly. When I get to wing sweep when I get my hrb lipo's I'll let you know how electronics work and if mechanism work in unison. So far love this girl”
