“I have not flown the plane yet or even put it toguether, however, it is very impressive, and no kidding on the amount of scale detail.Finish is impecable, and with the optional drop tanks and missels it will look amazing. It looks easy to put toguether, and very minimal parts too.My only wish is that it came with wing sockets rather than servo leads.”

“I've put about 10 flights on this airplane at 6,000 feet with either a 750-foot concrete runway or full scale asphalt runway (yes, with permission). It looks good in the air, but it needs a few easy changes to provide a nice experience. I wish I knew about these issues prior to buying replacement parts so early on. Here's what I mean:PROBLEM - The removable nose cone is a nice idea on paper, but terrible in reality. It's held on by two magnets so it's prone to falling off with any bounce or jar of the nose gear. In my case, it would fall off on either the take-off roll or landing on the asphalt runway which is rougher than concrete, but smoother than grass. Once it falls off, the airplane trips over it thus causing damage to the airframe and nice scale details.SOLUTION - Either glue the nose cone on or add a carbon fiber rod through the fuselage and nose cone to keep it from falling off. In my case, I glued it on.PROBLEM - The main gear springs are too stiff so most of the force applied to the main gear will be against the retract unit which puts enough stress on it to cause the plastic retract housing to crack.SOLUTION - Either replace the retracts with all metal ones which will move the stress points to some other place or replace the springs with softer ones so they become functional. In my case, I found softer springs.PROBLEM - The design of the nose strut has a very weak point in that one little screw holds the fork to the strut. There is a lot of force applied to that screw so eventually the pop-can metal rips apart causing failure of the suspension.SOLUTION - Add two more screws to the fork to attach it to the strut for more strength, otherwise be prepared to buy extra nose gears. In my case, I added the screws after replacing the nose gear twice.PROBLEM - The CG per the manual is too far forward.SOLUTION - Move the battery back by about 1/2 - 3/4.PROBLEM - Flight times are about 2.5 minutes long due to the high density altitude.SOLUTION - Probably fly at sea level.PROBLEM - One wire for one of my rudder servos was not crimped well which would have fallen out during flight had it not been checked during the build.SOLUTION - Check all wiring for bad connections.”

“Once again as normal, Freewing has produced an outstanding RC model with 'GREAT' quality and 'Super' detail to say the least. I haven't flown mine yet, but I'm looking forward to it and I can't imagine that it will or could fly poorly.”

“I live this f15. One of the best jets I have flown. It is a pleasure to fly ..and I am only 3 years into flying . I have crashed alot of super scale planes . Motion must love me lol. Love the freewing line. I am hooked for life. If you havent flown a super scale jet and your looking to this is it . Easy to take off and land .”

“Whoever says that the Freewing F-15 is a slouch is full of it... it has great power, wide flight envelope, and flys great at 40-50% throttle. Watch deploying the airbrake and I highly recommend putting it on it's own channel and combining it to the flaps, it will slow you down quickly in the air and you must be ready to add power to maintain your approach. I have not found a stall characteristic yet, I have had it very slow in a high alpha and it just starts to sink, let out of the back pressure and slowly roll into the power and she pulls right out... oh, and the nav lights are fantastic! I've flown in beyond twilight with it on the stock lights only and found it fairly easy to maintain orientation (note, I am very accustomed to flying in darkness by nav lights only, attempt at your own risk and know your abilities)”
