“I been waiting for a company to come out with a really good scale F-4, there was been other company that came out with some, but very poor taste, there was one I have gotten a long time ago that was nice by e-filte, but took forever to build. And with all the really good EDF jets that Freewing has put out, I know they would be the one to come out with a really Great F-4. And teaming up with MotoinRC, at which I buy all my planes now, Good Job.”

“This R/C version of the F-4 Phantom II has excellent attention to detail, and is a detailed, well performing representation of probably the most recognized jet, in use around the world by many countries. It's evident that a lot of work, and effort has gone into creating this beautiful, and excellent performing icon of the Viet Nam war, and the ride of Steve Ritchie, the only Ace of the Viet Nam war. From the outline, details, armament, and landing gear, to it's flight ability, Freewing has captured this jet's personality, and performance to a T. The F-4D has been a long awaited addition to my collection of wartime aircraft. Congratulations to Freewing, and Motion R/C for bringing this excellent aircraft model to life. Perhaps an F-8 Crusader in this large scale will be soon considered.”

“I was lucky enough to fly a couple flights on one before mine arrived. Knowing the setup we put in helped mine. That said for those of you that have "issues" you should read the instructions. Things like balance/ CG, elevator set point, flap to elevator compensation and throws do matter. You should also know how much flight time to expect. There should be no issues such as;"Wow, my F-4 took off to the clouds in a shot!! ... I had the elevators at neutral set to the 18mm of up trim they suggested." "Lost power at 2:50 minutes. (5000 6 cell-- 40c) She did a gentle belly flop into tall grass--whew, no damage at all. Granted, I was running her up and down the runway a few times to check steering prior to maiden...."The manual states 8mm of up as the elevator neutral. 5000mah pack in a 90mm will get you about a 2:30 flight even with a light throttle hand. That said the only thing I found was the CG is a little nose heavy but perfect for the first flight. After that move it back 5-10mm. Also the elevator rates are a little high. Again good for their CG setting but with the CG moved back about +/- 16mm for low rate is good.Mine got a repaint as I'm not a fan of SEA camo. I'm currently flying it with a slightly more powerful 6S set up and will be swapping in a (non- FW) 8S setup this weekend. FLights have been on a 5800 (about 3 minute flight) and 8000 (about a 5 minute flight). Bottom line is this plane is pretty darn good. Excellent engineering, design, easy assembly, and great flying. So what's project foil? :)”
