“This jet is definitely a handful on the ground, but pretty sweet in the air! It's big and bulky if you are used to handling smaller 70mm, 80mm or even single engine 90mm jets, but once you figure out the hand hold areas and move slowly, you can avoid major hangar rash. The jet comes well packaged and finely finished, though the foam can seem a little soft and easy to damage - be careful when handling it as you assemble. I really had to balance it on my stand! Not used to handling that big of a fuselage with two engine nacelles to deal with. I found the assembly pretty straightforward and easy though. Mine was one of the first orders, so I did have to swap out the elevator servos, which MRC sent almost immediately after I received the aircraft, but that was pretty easy as well. Some pilots may be confused with battery placement, as there are actually three battery trays, even though this plane flies with two batteries. Using the forward and rear tray for all but the lightest 4000 6S batteries will result in a nose heavy condition. The middle and back trays are what you want to use! I fly 5000 and 6000 6S batteries, so there was no question for me. My 6000 required me to shave out some of the foam in the canopy area over the battery to get the canopy to properly seat too. Flying: She is big and gentle, easy to follow in the sky! Plenty of power and speed, but it does feel like a heavy bird up there. After flying my Avanti, L-39 or even the 90mm F-18 in a flying session, the feel of this bird in the sky is considerably different - much larger, heavier, but certainly smooth! Having said that, the glide on landing approach can be long as she floats well. I found this bird pretty easy to land. Just drop flaps, keep a steady low speed, nose up, a small burp of throttle as ground effect kicks in, and she settles down nicely on the mains. I dropped her a little hard the first couple of times, trying to time it right, and found the gear plenty sturdy, but I have the hang of it now. All in all, I am enjoying this big bird, and she is a crowd pleaser!”
“https://youtu.be/fEBQotrRCXs She flew great, completely stock setup, stock rates, still stock servos but now have the 23 gram installed. I used the high book rates. I used some up trim for the flap mix. I used an AR9350 RX with AS3X i had it on a 3 position switch OFF, then 50% for low and 75% for high. The high gain helped a lot for our windy afternoons! I flew it clean for five flights but will add the missile set for next time. The takeoff was easy with the up trim, took off by its self. The landing was super easy and got much slower on each flight after. Alpha and the Freewing team did a GREAT JOB on this Mig-29! I say she is the best jet yet that freewing as released! I post my flights each time i go fly to stop on by to see it for yourself!”

“Received and waiting for the maiden flight. Everything about this model is high-quality - the way the parts are packed, the paint and decals, the finish, the way the plane goes together- its obvious that it was designed by a modeler for modelers. Small things like the way the wing screws are designed to not fall out! I think its completely on par with the 2x80mm A10 as far as the general construction, but the MiG is larger and lighter - and has upgraded motors. Check the discussion page on Hobbysquawk for a lot more about this one! Only complaint so far is a lack of a detailed gun port and detail decals for the missiles, but I'll be able to get those on the aftermarket.”
