Very impressed with the entire package. Decided to wait for the servo up grade before taking the first flight. Installed the new servos but discovered during radio set up that both elevator servos operate counterclockwise even tho one should be reversed. Had to swap out the receiver with one with seven channels so that I could plug elevators into separate channels in order to reverse one of them. Not a big deal but still frustrating considering the price tag. Looks awesome next to the FW A-10.

Build was pretty straight forward, went by the book as suggested in rcgroups forum and replaced the servos provided by motionrc ( thanks for that )Will post a detail flight review. This has become my favorite - own almost all freewing jets!

This is the sweetest EDF jets I have ever flown. My full maiden report is on Hobby Squawk. Set her up by the book and enjoy a relaxing maiden flight experience! She’s a great value and well designed bird...kudos to the entire Freewing team / knocked this one outa the ball park.

I know there have been discussions about servos on this and I did get a call from Alpha all the way from China to say they were sending higher torque replacement servos. Great customer support Motion! That said I decided to fly mine with the stock servos. I did move my elevator pushrod to the inner hole on the servo and I moved the aileron pushrod in one hole. I made sure to use the right radio ATV to get the book rates, high and low.I bypass the MCBe, and remove the ribbon cables, on most my FW and FL models and did the same except for retracts gear doors and lights on this one. I put the MCBe beside the rear battery off to the side and ran extensions for the ailerons and flaps directly to the receiver. I made extensions for the wing tip lights and wired them to the MCBe. I used a Y to plug the gear door covers to the dual action slot on the MCBe so they close once the gear are extended. I used shorter, heavier duty extensions for the elevator and rudder servos. I had to add short extensions to the front retract, steering and nose light.Programing gave me crow (flaps down and both ailerons up), rudder airbrakes, normal and full span flaps and most importantly tailerons.Flights went well. Balanced at the molded mark it needed 4mm of elevator offset instead of the books 1mm. No other trim. At the molded CG it flies nose heavy for me and next flights will be 10mm behind the marks. The stock power is great, rolls with tailerons are awesome. Loops at the stock CG are a bit lumbering. It also flies a bit heavy feeling. That said take offs and landings are very smooth and cross winds don't effect it. It flies very smooth.Great job FreeWing and Motion!

Flew my mig today for 2 flights. At takeoff she came off in probably 200 feet with no flaps. Climbs well. Keep in mind I have history with larger composite turbine jets and giant scale props. It flew well enough for me to make me feel comfortable enough to fly it like I stole it low fly-bus are impressive. I found myself happy with full elevator throw on high rates. (I fly with high rates a lot) only negative I can say with my flight I did try high alpha...I did happen to read the odd nose high position and falling like an elevator in high alpha and I DID experience this!!!I was maybe 100’ up off the end of the runway and had her slowed up, nose high, and it really is stable in hi-alpha.. however as I fed more elevator and throttle into it it fell on its back in in nose high vertical position all the while doing the most beautiful tail slide!!!!! I gave her full throttle and milked it out like an old flow ducted fan model out of a low stall right before close to impact. Needless to say I was a little “puckered up” the guys thought I did this on purpose and I rolled with it!!! told them it was a Russian maneuver. Lulz...however I am slightly nose heavy and I still got into this condition so BE CAREFUL getting her into hi-alpha. I did turn on and off AS3x and there was NOT much difference! The jet is large enough and stable enough to not need a gyro. .As far as elevator servos I went the route the manual says to use the inner hole and I had NO issues with the stock servos. However I did get an email from motion stating I will be receiving the updated servos. That’s excellent customer service!! Anyhow I love this plane and I’m very happy with the subject matter as I’m a rusky jet fan. Too add I feel 640.00 is an excellent value. I’ve been flying since 1995 and I remember when just a set of retracts for a ducted fan cost this much! Keep it in perspective guys! We’re getting a lot for our money.

My maiden went well. Two flights so far but grounded until the upgraded elevator servos arrive unfortunately. Had gusty 8-9mph crosswinds and the MIG does a great job of crabbing in and touching the mains nice and easy with a decent flair. A little more throttle just before touchdown and would have been a point perfect landing. Need to adjust my A3Pro Gyro since I had a little oscillating even with only 35% gains... Very happy so far! Can’t wait for the servos so I can get her back up in the air though.

The brown box had a few nicks but the inside box as usual was untouched. Being that this is my eighth free wing plane I am sure it will go together as easy as the others. I’m going to take my time as I usually do adding some paint and then covering the whole plane in Minwax poly acrylic. Can’t wait to show the guys at Dwyer park west palm beach
