After flying this plane numerous times since my original review, I must upgrade my rating from 4/5 to 5/5 stars. I love the look and handling characteristics of this plane. It just looks amazing on low fly-bys and when it rolls. In spite of a bit of an ESC Issue - which Motion gas been working with me to resolve - it is tied with the Sea Fury as my favorite. Flight Line (FL) is indeed the new standard in foam RC planes. I will definitely be purchasing more FL products from Motion in the future. Keep up the great work!

I read a review of the Flight Line P-38 that indicated the stock landing gear could be replaced with the ME-262 shock-absorbing gear. After ripping the retracts out of my P-38 four times on what I thought were decent landings, I ordered the 262 gear. After a leap of faith (cutting the main struts was a bit harrowing), the 262 gear slipped right on. Care needs to be taken to ensure the tires fit into the recesses, but the operation was a success. I'm 3 for 3 now with intact gear. For the price, the ME-262 gear are the way to go!

Bought and inspected not yet assembled. Arrived quickly and in great shape. Waiting to buy additional optional parts/upgrades before my amazing build begins. The plane looks great and has many great details. Will post another review of possible when assembled and maiden flight is done. Otherwise great product from a great seller. I'm a first time buyer from motion rc so this will be a deal breaker to purchase more???

Motion R/C has marketed a winner. I have always been a fan of the P-38 but the models available were either too small or if they were big enough, too expensive. Motion R/C has reached a great compromise on price and size. We have two of these P-38s flying at my field - the silver one and my green one. Both fly great. What I liked: The airplane comes packaged well and arrived without damage. It is essentially already put together with servos, motors, and speed controllers already installed. All that is left for the modeler is to assemble the major components. It went together quickly and the resulting model looks quite nice. I know some folks were stressing over the size of the tires and the not quite scale rake on the landing gear but these are very minor points and in my opinion do not take away from an overall great looking airplane. I have received many favorable comments on the airplane. I have found the airplane to be very pleasant to fly. It is heavier than your run of the mill foamy but it handles very nicely. Landings are a breeze even in crosswind and gusty wind situations. I am running the stock motor and propeller setup and it provides good power and quite acceptable flight times. The airplane will cruise around very nicely on half throttle. Having the two battery packs in the fuselage pod of the model eliminates some of the weight in the engine nacelles which makes rolling the aircraft easier. Having the propellers counter rotate is another nice feature. I have flown many twin engine glow planes and have found the weight of the engines and fuel tanks far from the centerline and rotating in the same direction adversely impacts the aircraft during rolling maneuvers. What I don't like: The servo arms on the flap servos were not installed on the same splines resulting in different control linkage geometry (the four split flaps have different moments of travel). The servos are already glued into the wing and I didn't want to dig them out to get to the screw holding the servo arm so I elected to just leave them as is and see how it flew. As it turned out, I did not notice and induced rolling or yawing when lowering the flaps so I guess it wasn't that important. Additionally, the instructions for getting all the wiring set up were not very good. I got it figured out but it was mostly through trial and error. Like most others, I found getting all the wires to fit in the channels was a challenge. Bottom line, I feel I got very good value for my hobby dollar. If anyone wants to query me on my experiences with this airplane, I can be reached at vprpilot@cox.net

This is my first purchase for any product line offered by Motion RC. This P-38 purchase was first influenced by all the positive praise that I have heard and read about Motion RC. and second by all the product review videos created by Motion RC. Watching these highly informative plane reviews and seeing their performance in the air along with customer reviews helps you in the pre purchase phase.I am extremely satisfied with the Flightline P-38. The assembly is straightforward and fun. The maiden flight was yesterday and required Zero trim. All control surfaces were set as per instruction manual. This sure is a head turner. just about everyone at the field stopped just to see this fly. Now I want to install the upgraded wheels and struts and possibly a MRRCsound system. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an awesome warbird. Big thank you to Motion R/C for a great plane and fast shipping. Looking forward to my next purchase ( Freewing A-10 )

I've only been flying for about 18 months and I've had plenty of good and bad experiences. This plane is simply amazing. Right out of the box I could tell that this would be an awesome addition to my small collection. The build was long but enjoyable. Had to work out a few hangouts in the wiring, but over all it went together smoothly. First flight was good, for about 40 seconds before it nosed into the ground. 100% pilot error. The plane itself flew and responded beautifully.
