A great Sport flyer but, for the size, she should be powered with a 4S battery !

I've only been in to this hobby for a month. Twice I bought 1400 sky trainers and crashed beone repair. I got this freewing Pandora and love it. I have a FMS 1100 skytrainer that is also my choice for learning. I fly in high wing format and they are great trainers. If you have not built a plane the instuctions are hard to understand. I also have 2 Freewing P 51d mustangs. One with sound system and one with out. I can't wait to get good enought to fly them. Motion has the greatest service and perple to help.

After having my Pandora for 3 months now I thought it was time for a flight review. While I gave the plane 4 stars for the build, it's definitely a 5 when it comes to flying. The Pandora is an excellent slow flyer, when coming in for a landing I can close the throttle completely and it will just seem to continue on like it still has power. It will float forever and with just a little practice allow you to just kiss the ground when landing. If there's a 8-10mph wind to land into, it almost seems to hover like a heli. But it's also rugged enough to take the harder ones while you learn. I've misjudged when to flair and have come done fairly hard on the large wheels, it cracked the plastic but the rod that is the actual landing gear took it all with out a problem. A little glue and good as new.I usually cruise at a little less than 50% throttle and its pretty much hands off. It's not real zippy compared to some other planes but its not a slouch either considering its a trainer. It can loop and roll easily as you get more experience. All in all it's a real good plane to learn on. It's fairly forgiving, not too twitchy for a newbie but can rise to the challenge as you want more. The more experienced members of my club seem to like it as well, more so that I haven't killed it yet. All in all I've been very happy with it.

It's been two weeks but the problem is solved. I got a new upper wing cockpit & all the nuts are just fine. Won't have time to maiden before the holidays.I'm going to try a 3-axis gyro in this plane.Chuck

I will post a link to the build log when it's finished but first I need MotionRC to help resolve an issue I have with this model.Actually there were 2 issues but I managed to resolve one on my own because a part for the prop was missing from the kit but I had purchased 2 spare props & used the piece from one of those. The other problem is a bad nut on the high wing cockpit that holds the wing on. I was hoping they would send a new cockpit. They did offer to reimburse me for the purchase of a tap to try to fix the nut. I'm not sure that will resolve it.It's been a week since I first contacted them & I'm starting to get frustrated as I had hoped to maiden this plane yesterday!I will update this review when the problem is resolved or not!Chuck

The Pandora was the second plane I flew, starting out with a Piper Cub by Hobbyzone (Check out my forum page, All us newbies, lets share) The first thing I have to say about the Pandora is that she's tough!! Both of mine have had MAJOR crashes and are still flying!! Pandora One caught on fire after a hairy crash (pilot error), she was quickly put out and repaired. Pandora Two did a lawn dart from about 50 feet up (Again pilot error) and after a session with some Gorrilla Glue, she's back in the air and flys beautifully, had her up today. P-1 is low wing with flaps and P-2 is high. I don't notice a difference in flight characteristics other than P-1 with low wings is pretty laid back where P-2 has a little more pep. Mind you, I did some mods of P-1(see pics in the forum) as well as replaced the original ESC which was burnt up in the fire, with an FMS 50A ESC. Winter time projects include new props for both and a new ESC in P-2. I love these birds, they handle well, you can do aerobatics with them , although better pilots will be more versed in that, they land well, takeoffs are a little hairy at first but you get used to them, the nice thing is that you can adjust the tailwheel independently of the rudder, but she'll still tend to pull to the right, typical taildragger. If you haven't got one and yu're just starting out, like me, I highly recommend them, they'll become your go to plane.

After 2 students to solo, 2 motor, 3 ESCs, Servo stripping, blow off tires, landing gear that can hit the ground at full speed Low Pass, any prop that fits on it and ?? Hot Sticks ...The Airframe bracing and the attachment methods should be examined by competition. We fly R/C everyday. I have no idea how to break the wings off.... Buy it !

I have played with RC cars for 25 years, but this is only my second plane. I started with a model you had to hand launch, and moved quickly to this plane because I find rolling takeoffs much easier. This is a great model. I am flying it in the high-wing tail-dragger format. It is very stable, and I have been able to take it off and land it without instruction. Had a fairly major crash yesterday (angled in to ground with nose and one wing tip), with only light, repairable damage. The design is very modular, so part replacement will be a snap when that is required. Can't wait to get more flight hours so I can be competent enough to try the low-wing configuration. I don't have the flaps set up, but plan to, because this will allow super slow landings.
