The assembly instructions leave a lot to be desired. Images and text are extremely limited leaving one to basically fit-check everything before installing and securing with hardware. Hardware instructions really don't exist which means you need to double check that you're installing the correct fastener/screw. You will also need to zero the servos for all flight controls especially the tail wheel before connection. If you don't, the tail wheel will snap over center at 90 degrees during full travel rig check. There is a notch on the tail wheel rod/wire that needs to align with the collar with the rudder at neutral (0 degrees). The Li-po battery should also be secured on a non-slip material so it doesn't slide out of the strap. It just sits on wood. All the landing gear, hatches, rudder/elevator and wings fit perfectly and there is plenty of space for the battery and receiver. The upside is that Motion RC provides excellent support if you run into problems and need help. Still need to test fly, weather permitting.

The biggest problem with this plane is the nose gear for the tricycle configuration. Land it a little hard on the nose wheel or run it off in the grass after landing on a paved runway and you have landing gear damage at the very least. You will be readjusting the control rod for the front wheel as well, and about 3 hard landings and you are replacing the servo. Overall construction for a foamy is fine, but the landing gear is terrible. Might as well remove the pants for the tricycle landing gear as well, because it is going to pop off on less than smooth landings anyway. Flying characteristics are fine. Might suggest a receiver with AS3X or it does not do well in just about any kind of wind (5 mph and above). Could not keep servo control are screws tight. Had to replace with ones that have allen wrench heads. The board (if you want to call the almost paper thin piece of wood that the internal servos are mounted on) wood, is so thin the the servo mounting screws pull out after a few slightly rough landings as well. I have spent far more time fixing than flying. Can't recommend this as a trainer. Also, the assembly time is far more than 1 hour cause you can't understand the very poorly interpreted instructions. Just refer to picture on the last page.

For the love of god please include a screw identification supplement! Other than that this is a great model. I maidened yesterday in the high wing dragger configuration and it flew fantastic with a few clicks of down elevator. Ultra stable and great slow speed characteristics. Some question that this may be an intermediate? Maybe if you have zero training. I would recommend a pc sim for anyone new and I trained for a week on the sim before flying this. As long as you make your first few flight in low wind conditions I dont think a gyro is needed, its that stable.

This is my 4th Pandora. It is my goto plane because it does pretty much everything - loops, rolls, inverted and is easy to land with or without flaps. The only weakness I have found is the front nose leg and bulkhead is not strong enough to cope with heavy landings so I set mine up as a low wing taildragger. I also upgraded the ESC so as to be able to fly on 4S which gives more power for loops. This is a great value plane which will not disappoint unless you are an expert.

As ever with Freewing the quality is top notch. Sure they are more expansive that other models but the hinges, esc, motors are all better quality. One of the big benefits too is unlike most other brands they actually have spare parts available so any incidents are easy to fix.Only criticism would be not having the flaps pre-installed, and being an older kit the wing electronics could do with being a simple plug not having to plug each servo into the correct channel which is a minor inconvenience.Instructions for the multi configurations could/should be better.

Needs opening of battery hatch to allow 4s battery. Tail wheel needs stronger control horn.

I could not be more pleased. This is my 2nd Pandora and I have rebuilt the 1st and they are both my go-to to just go have fun and continue to learn. The many optional configurations will keep me flying different, but the same plane for (I hope) a long time to come. Excellent trainer, without SAFE and without bells and whistles.
