“These lights really add to the realism of flying they our very bright even in the day time. They look spectacular day or night & being able to toggle thru the 8 modes while in flight is a nice feature. I use the admiral 2 cell 1300mah. battery to power them & after six 9 min. flights I'm still at 3.80 per cell. They our better suited for larger planes because of their size. They have a large heat sink attached to them but not a problem as long as the wing is thick enough to except them. I have them installed on my carbon cub & carbon Trojan & they look like the real deal on the ground or in flight. You will have to add wire length on these planes just cut in half & solder inline. I used 28 gauge but 22 or 20 will work also. On the cub because of the way you will want to install them so you can take the wings off you will need 4 packs of 2mm bullet connecters 3 sets each. They work with 28 gauge but 20 might be a tight fit to solder. Very nice light kit you will be impressed. I will buy more of this one for future planes without lights. Happy flying everyone.”
“So I bought this light kit because I wanted something brighter than the regular GT power lights. They flash patterns are not much different, but the lights are extremely bright. So bright that they blind you if you look at them. I was really impressed. They are larger so I would consider the kit fit for larger aircraft. The controller is bigger, and you need a separate lipo to run them as they do consume a lot more power. There are heat sinks on the leds... DO NOT REMOVE THEM. The lights get very hot, so they need to release their heat or they will burn out. Wires were a bit longer than the other sets, but still too short, so you will need to modify as usual. But hey, thats what we do in this hobby.. we modify our models. You can control the flash pattern with a separate channel on your radio, and it also comes with its own on off switch. The battery connector is for a 2 cell balance plug. If you want to use something different, you have to modify again. I am giving 5 stars because it is a great high power light system. Its still a really great price for what you get. Its plug and play, and I don't mind modifying the kit to make it fit larger aircraft. Just remember you need a decent amount of space for the bulbs and heat sink. about a 1/2 inch square.”
