“This so far has shown to be a nice kit. After testing it out, I repainted it to match a 1944 Western Front paint scheme. I've completed that and now am working on decals and weathering before applying a top coat flat finish. When it came time to do the decals, I ran into problems. No mater how much burnishing I do, the decals will not release from the clear plastic film. I even tried the 'Heng Long' logo on a scrap piece of the same type plastic and it would not come off either. I also have the Sherman tank and had a hard time with its decals but eventually got them to release/stick. I've put in 3 times the effort on the Tiger 1 with no success. I've considered buying some wet decals to use but recent purchases of wet decals has not been very good (usually old stock which is problematic or if supposedly new, they disintegrated the moment water hit them). So today I will start making some stencils so I can paint on the markings. I watched some videos on dry decals, including seeing the Motion RC videos where they show decal application on these tanks, and my experience has not been the ease at which those videos show. I've been building models for 40 years and have at least a little bit of experience with decals. I think there's a production problem here regarding Heng Long's decals. Otherwise this tank is very nice. I don't suppose there's any hope of getting customer service from China to replace these decals with ones that work.”
