OVERVIEW: Super easy to fly ( I did cheat and put in a ZOHD Kopilot mainly so I can fly out over a open field about 500 yards away and not have to worry about getting disoriented at that distance and for stabilization)Build, this was my 1st ARF build (not my first plane), so it probably took longer build than for most people. The video helped a lot , but I found myself going to Youtubers who put the Dancing Wings version together.Quality, the foam is OK, pretty thin like DollarTree foamboard, not sure how it is going to handle a crash (probably not very well).THE GOOD►FLIGHT: Easy to fly with a stabilizer, stalling doesn't seem to be a problem. It is very maneuverable in tight spaces. Looks realistic at distance.►FIT: All of the wholes lined up correctly and the wood pieces were cut correctlyWHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER►PAINT/DYE: The dye or paint on the fuselage pieces basically was like excess laser toner. It was all over the inside of the plastic that the fuselage came in. This resulted in the dark colors rubbing on the white foam and leaving marks (see the photos). Additionally, the dye just fell off the foam. I put some Minwax on the wings and fuselage to seal in the color, which seemed to have work, but the damage by the dye not bonding during the manufacturing and shipping process was already done. Note the wings did not suffer from the lack of dye adhesion.►FLIGHT: Noses up on throttle beyond 50%. Tried the 3% down and right offsets as well as with no offset, didn't really seem to make a difference. Added a throttle / elevator mix above 50% , but that kind makes it a pain when switching from Manual mode to Stabilized mode►3D PARTS: Some 3d printed parts for the motor mount with the correct offset would have been a nice touch or at least a STL file. I ended up tracing the beak and creating a 3d part to place on the side of the beak to give it some strength. The V-Tail, would have bee better with a 3d printed V-Tail holder►POWERAnother downer was my ESC was DOAMotor was not was listed on the site or in the videoDid not come with a prop saver

James and Ossie were a great help in choosing the Bald Eagle. The video that James had on YouTube was excellent. It was a big help with the build. James talked about making a hatch behind the firewall and I cut one in and the cg was right on. The battery fits well in this area. I’m using a 3S 2200 up tight against the firewall. The Bald Eagle flys as it should. Great remarks on the likeness of a real Bald Eagle in flight.

This plane is a blast to fly. Up high you can’t tell it apart from a real bird. I have bought two for myself (one still in the box as a spare). I also bought a third for a friend who is a new flyer.

First thing I noticed was the upgrades from the orignal Dancing Wings Eagle. The wood side frames had been extended for more support, the carbon fiber control horns, Admiral motor with upgrade ESC and other improvements. I said the assembly was difficult only because so many planes today are 30 minutes assembly and this bird requires some building skills with foam and hot glue (if you choose). Came out looking great, impressed with the coloring, I even scared my neighbor's chickens when I showed it to them. As far as flying, it likes to soar around like an eagle or buzzard with 1/3 throttle kinda easy like. Light on the controls worked best for me on a calm day. Yesterday I decided to show off to my club members and experiment with a loop. Big mistake! I don't blame it all on the bird and maybe a more capable flyer would have been able to get it out of that spin. I did find out that it was easy to repair and a pretty rugged bird. Next calm day it will be out flying with the buzzards and no more tricks. Looks great up there!
