“The plane flies well, but does NOT have unlimited vertical when using a 2200mah battery. I used to fly a Model Aero POLARIS...and while all dimensions seem similar, my motor was definitely more powerful than the one the Dragonfly comes with. The problem...you can't easily change motors without hacking the plane drastically. Also, to get the right CG...you have to move the 2200mah battery 3.75" aft...which means moving the ESC also. I built a rear and front barrier to keep the battery in position. Also, if you ever need to replace the elevator or rudder servo...a major Hack of the plane is required. So...it's sort of a disposable airplane. Just yesterday...Hobby King sent me notice that the Skipper is back in stock....for $40 less than the Dragonfly...they are identical planes, just different color. So overall it is a fun plane to fly, but the motor should be a tad more powerful to achieve unlimited vertical and faster level speeds.....again, I'm comparing to my broken 10 year old Polaris with a 2216 2100KV motor.”

“All the great features of this plane have already been mentioned so I'll just point out where I feel needs improvement. 90% of my gripes regard the horizontal stabilizer. First and foremost the horizontal stabilizer pieces need a big glob of glue to hold them securely in place in their pockets as I found that they kept working themselves loose. The horizontal stabilizer control rod is too flimsy and will bend after one hard pull-up. The two plastic stickers that connect the left and right elevator sections are not enough but some packing tape or lamination over them will get the job done. The recommended center of gravity seems too far back and mine flew best balanced right at the "step" otherwise you risk some cool looking but dangerous flat spins. The prop blast removed the tail decals on the first flight. Last is just a recommendation; add some lamination film or packing tape to the bottom of the fuselage and wingtip floats to prevent erosion of the foam on grass takeoffs and landings.”

“This plane is fast, fun and can land on just about anything. I used it on a pond to skim the surface and pop up whenever, did the same on grass and plan to use it on snow as well. It is just amazing!”

“The plane should have a protective film or skin installed on the bottom of the hull especially at this price point!Bare foam bottom is destroyed quickly without being protected.Plane is over-priced compared to some other outlets by up to $30.00 USD”
