“I got this train from ugears's Kickstarter project, not Motion RC.The model is really ingenious, and a lot of fun to put together for people who like building models. I found that some of the pieces were tricky for me to punch out of the plywood sheet, but a little patience and the help of a hobby knife helps. Included with the model is a plywood measuring tool, which was really useful to punch out the little pieces. Also, the tiny holes in the measuring tool were perfect for pushing the toothpick dowels through tight fitting holes.Building advice: use a wax candle to help slip those tight fittings together! I waxed pretty much every toothpick, joint, and gear. I also found that a fingernail clipper was the perfect tool for snipping the toothpicks. Use a fine grain sandpaper to remove the little burrs left over from punching pieces out of the wood.Go slow, enjoy the building process, double check all instructions for piece orientation before putting in the locking pieces like dowels, and you will have an excellent locomotive!”
