Our Canadian Dog Tags are unofficial replicas made of stainless steel with a matte (non-shiny) finish.The text is laser engraved using the same modern 'Fiber Laser' method now used by the Canadian military which creates a dark etching which you can feel with your fingers and will not wear down or rub off.The old method of mechanically indenting the tags is no longer employed by the military and we do not offer it.The tag is designed to break into two pieces in the field if the wearer is K.I.A. so that the bottom half can returned to HQ while the other half remains with the body.CDN FORCES CDN is a Trademark of His Majesty the King in Right of Canada as represented by the Minister of National Defence. “After contacting Mydogtag.com in regards to the format for my Canadian Forces tags, I was made aware of the original format of last name first, then initials being changed up to initials first then last name. A complete set of tags in original format were made and sent. Gentlemen, I am 100% pleased with the product you made for me. And will pass on to many others what y'all did for me. Hi John, thank you for your feedback and your military service. Our Canadian ID Disc template follows the more recent tag layout standards implemented in the 90s. However, you are indeed correct in that there was a time when the layout was different. Unfortunately we are not certain what time periods this applies to. We would be happy to remake your tags for free to get it right, please call or email us.

“I recently lost my tags and thought I would not be able to replace them - then I found this supplier. The new ones are awesome, even better than issued ones. Alhough I am retired from service I still wear them proudly. Very quick shipping and they are of high quality. Definitely recommend these guys.”
