“I joined the army in November 68 even thou past the dates you give I was issued these type dog tag with my RA number on it, with in my first year they were replaced with the current type with social security number on it. Late 71 when returning from Viet Nam to be discharged at Oakland AFB they took my Dog Tags, I never really understood why other than they had my social security number on them. So now I have that piece and the memories that go with it.”
