“When I first received my tags, I was disappointed because they were very difficult to read. Then I compared them to the actual set I had worn in Viet Nam. They were identical. I had not looked at my original set close enough to realize how blurry the original type had been. They did an excellent job of replicating my originals. Hi Richard, thank you for your honest review and for your military service. It is interesting to note that the indented (debossed) tags were never actually intended to be read by people, rather they were designed for transcription equipment using carbon copy paper to transfer the dogtag information to paper records after a casualty. Nevertheless there are 2 options to make replica tags easier to read. 1. Choose the Embossed font (raised text), which is modern military standard, although not authentic to the Vietnam war period, they will be much easier to read, and most people wouldn't know the difference anyways. Or 2. Keep the deboss font, but use black shoe polish to fill in the letters and make them stand out.
