“Overall a very good experience. But we were a little disappointed in the booking/organizing of the occupants of the rafts. Initially we were a party of 8, but the day before our trip we tried to add 3 more. We were told we couldn’t. When the rafting assignments were made at NOC, one raft ended up having 8 people in it (not our group), and one raft had only 4 (half of our group). We could’ve easily added the 3 people to fill the raft that ended up having only 4. A little disappointing.”

“Everything was great. Out complain is about the guide and the 3 people who were placed with us. Our guide fell in 5 mins into the trip. The 8 year daughter had no business having a paddle and the mom and the guide wouldn’t stop talking. We hit several rocks and went down the last rapids backwards. We will be back but not be guided… or request for just the 4 of us which maybe it was luck what we had last year.”

“Excellent website for registration, forms etc. NOC campus is the best in the country, food selections, merchandise etc. Nantahala is a fun river regardless of your experience level. Robert was an excellent guide and made the trip fun for our our group. I have used NOC for several years, they never disappointed in any of the rivers they guide. Thanks NOC!”

“I’ve been coming to Nantahala for 12 years with my family, and it is a special place for us. This year my sisters and nieces joined me for a girls retreat - 6 of us from around the country ranging in age from 29 to 72 (the latter is me). It was the first guided raft trip for many of them, and an experience they will treasure. Our guide, Phil Hart, was wonderful - a great combination of humor, knowledge, and respect for newbies and experienced paddlers. By the end of our trip, he was an honorary member of our family. Thanks, Phil, you made all the difference.”
