First impressions - well made and heavy duty. Good solid strap. However removing the inner pouch from the mask left a sea of polyester and silica balls all over my floor. The seam on the inner pouch wasn’t properly stitched and had holes throughout. Remove the inner pouch with this in mind to avoid a mess. The inner pouch can be warmed or chilled, or used as is. It’s comfortable to wear. But sadly won’t feel the full benefit considering the inner pouch emptied most of its contents over my kitchen floor.

Ocusheild eye mask was heavier than I expected. This would be great for an afternoon nap, or if you are trying to relax and de-stress. I wanted it to help me sleep, but I found it too heavy and cumbersome around my head to wear overnight. It could just be me, as I hated the weighted blanket I had as well.

This mask work well. It blocks out the light and is nice and weighty . It’s feels soft to the touch and is easily adjustable . The only real issue was the price, £30 or just under at time of review seems a little excessive but overall very happy with it

Good design, and well made. The cool pads are nice for migraines and headaches, giving a bit of a direct cold compress after some chilling to relieve any headache pain etc behind the eyes. It's comfortable enough to wear to bed too.

- As a sleep mask -I find it too bulky and uncomfortable to sleep in, but I generally don’t get on well with any sleep masks and didn’t get it for this reason.- As a heated mask -I love that it has a removable heating pad, making it easy to keep the outer mask clean as only the inner part goes in the microwave (1-2 mins). It’s very soothing to wear and aids tear flow for dry eyes. I put it on for 3-5 mins then gently massage my eyes afterwards. Ideal for anyone who spends too much time looking at a computer or phone screen. A relaxing experience.- As a cooling mask -It’s recommended to freeze it for 5-8 mins. It’s fine after this but I find a little longer is better. Cooling is good for when your eyes are puffy or irritated (crying, hayfever etc.) It’s very pleasant and especially relaxing in hot weather, when it’s also nice to have it on your forehead for a bit.For both heating and cooling I prefer to lie down and wear it loose without having the strap around my head. I don’t have a large head but I find it a little odd having too much pressure on my eyes when it’s fixed. I like that it has a catch to allow you to fasten and unfasten the strap.- Important note -The instructions state this can be heated and cooled 400 times. So if you find yourself using this once daily it would technically only last a year and 35 days.- Overall -I’m really impressed with this mask. The solid presentation box is very nice for storage and would make a thoughtful gift for anyone with dry eyes or in need of general relaxation. Give it with a luxurious bath product and/or a relaxing essential oil room spray and you have a lovely spa-type package.

I have slept with this on for a couple of nights now. Firstly it is 100% effective at excluding light, so it succeeds at its aim. I like that you can choose a fabric to have next to your skin - a fluffier one or a smoother one. I like the smooth one. The strap is detachable from one side to help with this. The weight of the item feels wrong if you out the mask on sitting up, as the elastic strap can’t quite take the weight unless very tight but the minute I lay down it was fine. I quite liked the pressure of the weighted beads as it mean it felt firm and the mask didn’t tickle or irritate my eyes during the night. I don’t think it made me sleep faster or deeper though. The downside of this for me is that the beads add bulk and I tend to change positions in the night, from my back to my sides and my front - this isn’t good for front sleepers at all. You end up putting a lot of pressure on your eyes via the mask. Side sleepers, perhaps but the mask tends to pull down. Both nights I ended up taking it off about halfway through the night as I changed position, but I did put it back on first thing to exclude the morning light and manage to get another couple of hours sleep. It comes in a magnetic closure box, and looks pretty smart. I would hope that other orders wouldn’t come like mine - I just got that box with an address label on; anyone could have taken the mask out at any time during delivery. Finally, there is some literature about heating or cooling the mask for use in treatments - I would discourage this as the eyeballs as very sensitive and can’t take a lot of temperature change; you are bound to overdo it. I don’t think this would help blepharitis as much as a hot flannel to the face, and if you do have some sort of eye discharge or infection you don’t really want to keep using the same dry fabric of the mask on it without cleaning in between or you have a hygiene issue. I haven’t tried heating this because a couple said theirs melted and I didn’t want to melt mine!

Arriving in a magnet sealed box, this sleep mask has a premium feel about it.It's a grey colour with a soft plushy feel on one side, and silky on the other. The weighted beads are held into place by stiching, so they can't all sink to one place in the mask. There is a zip to remove the weighted part - pop in the freezer for 10 minutes for a cooling compress or microwave for 60 seconds or so for a soothing treatment. It's comfortable to wear and I found it completely blacks out all light for me (unusual for me - normally I get light creaping in through sleepmasks around my nose!).My only slight niggle is the positioning of the side hook, this faces downwards and you clip from the bottom up, which meant one of my very small hoop earings got caught in the hook during the night. Luckily it woke me up before any damage to my ear lobe happened, but I may need to find a way to close the loop with a plaster or similar if it happens again.
