“I’ve never purchased a pair of Olu Kai’s that were not leather, so I wasn’t sure about the quality and comfort about these. It was a relief when I dust tried them on.
First, I find that I need to order a size larger than my true shoe size, which in my case is a size 12. I ordered a 13 in all 3 pairs that I have and the length is perfect.
Comfort:
Excellent! I was skeptical of the fabric thong and if the arch support would be enough. Both have been very satisfying.
Design:
Slightly different from what the pics on the website show. The floral design is much finer in lines and detail than I thought. This took away from it, for me. It has a more printed look than artwork look. Still a 5-star rating regardless of design.
The reason for the 4-stars and not 5-stars, is that they have admitted to currently making their footwear in China. Why?? It makes these non-authentic at this point. Here I am thinking that these were being made on the great Hawaiian islands, only to find that they outsourced them for the sake of profit. That’s a very disappointing issue for me personally.
Overall, great sandal. I just hope they smarten your and bring these back to actually being “made in USA”. Surprising that they wouldn’t make these themselves, especially with the homeless issue that Hawaii has.”
