“I have been wearing these in Oahu for 10+hrs a day for about a week, they were stiff for the first few days, but after around the 4th day of wearing them they have started to break in, and are much more comfortable. The leather is also visibly more “distressed” so don’t expect them to look perfect after a week of use, the stitching so far has held up but I will be interested to see what they look like in a month. Overall satisfied.”

“My normal size is a 10 2E, because I have a high instep, so I took a chance and order the 10's. When they arrived a few days later I found the straps to be too tight and my feet fit exactly to the border of the footbed. I initiated a return and an exchange for 11's, but changed my mind about the return after I had my 17 y/o son try them on -- they fit him perfectly and he LOVES them! The 11's came promptly and fit my fat feet perfectly! I love these Mekila sandals in natural! The native-style embroidery is sick, the leather materials are top-drawer and the break in was only a week or two. The sandals are very comfortable, strongly built and super stylish. If you are a wide, I strongly advise you to size up one size, maybe two if you have a mondo boat sized foot (13+). I'll add that the process of initiating the return and exchange (which I aborted) was smooth and painless -- great customer service! I unhesitatingly recommend OluKai's Mekila's.”
