“I agree with others who have said the battery placement is awkward on the women's vest. The small of the back would be a much better place for it. Not only does it give an unsightly bulge on the one hip, but it makes a vest that fits, without it, a bit too tight around the hips. The small of the back would eliminate the ugly hip bulge. If Ororo came out with a vest with better battery placement, I'd buy one right now and still keep the other for when I don't need the heat. I recommend sizing up to allow for the battery on the hip.
I have a fairly tall neck for a woman, but the collar still hits my chin and rubs uncomfortably, unless I unzip a bit. If the collar tapered to just a bit shorter in the front, it would be perfect. I prefer a zipped collar to block a cold wind, as I do run outside in the snow.
Other than those two items, though, it's a good vest. I got it to run in and the arm holes are large enough to allow full range of motion with my arms. I'm 5'6", 124 lbs, 34B and the Small fits well through the chest. It does heat up nicely, and it's even very warm without turning the heat on. I read reviews on Amazon that said the fabric was extremely thin, but I bought mine on Ororo's website. I suspect the ones on Amazon are knock-offs. The fabric on the vest from Ororo is a good weight and seems like it will last a long time.
Overall it's a good vest and does the job it needs to do, so I do recommend it. Just be aware of the battery when selecting a size.”
“I love love the vest! The fit is perfect for me (size M) and the red zipper is a nice pop of color. The quality feels right up there with the big guys. Very happy with the purchase and I've already recommended it to my friends.”
“This vest is perfect for those cold mornings on the golf course. It’s light weight but warm. It’s a great layer when watching those high school football games outside, stays warm the entire time”
“I'm 5'1, 34/25/36 and wear size 0-2 jeans and an xs-s top. I ordered a women's small. Unfortunately, it's designed for someone with a long torso, and because the vest is fitted, it got narrow just below my waist. This means the battery pack pocket hit right at my hip, so it bulged out very noticeably and was uncomfortable against my hip bone. I considered sewing a new pocket in, but instead opted to exchange for a men's small, hoping it'd be roomier. Customer service was great, and the exchange was easy. The men's vest is a bit bulkier and looks quite chunky on me, but the length is the same, and it's warm. This year I'm looking at other brands who might make shorter-length heated vests.”
