Introducing the Bushwakka Extreme Darkness 270+

About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

Whether you're planning a weekend beach trip or the big lap around Oz, getting prepped can feel like a mission. We're here to make it simple. From expert guides and part finders to trusted advice and helpful customer service, we’re your starting point for any off-grid adventure.

We only stock gear we’d use ourselves. From brands like Aussie Traveller, MSA, CampBoss, BLA, Hardkorr, Superior Engineering, Tuff Terrain and Outback Explorer. With over 250 brands on our shelves and growing, we’re proud to support fellow adventurers at every stage of their journey.

We’re 100% Aussie-owned and operated, with our Brisbane showroom open 6 days a week. Swing by Acacia Ridge Monday to Friday (8am–5pm) or Saturday (8am–1pm), or call us on 1300 854 185 to chat about your next trip.

Epic bit of kit. Pity the brackets aren’t a bit more rust resistant, and the light switches aren’t installed logically, but otherwise great.

This was easy to fit and works very well. It could do with 1 extra support pole as standard and the two mounting brackets supplied are identical. L bracket with a bracing plate on one side. it would be better if the plated bracing was on the front side for the front bracket and on the back side for the back bracket, it would look so much better.

Nice big awning with great coverage, but … 1. Really heavy. Noticeable and need strong fixings. 2. Legs to hold down didn’t work? They just slide up and down? No locking pin? 3. As expected, due to the size, not great in the wind. Definitely needs 2-3 legs down. Other than that it’s a good quality awning.

This is a great awning with excellent coverage. Weight is the downside and requires extra mounts to ensure it will go the distance over rough tracks. Comes supplied with one leg but needs two for those challenging conditions, fortunately, a second leg can easily be ordered. Inbuilt lighting is a bonus. Highly recommend this awning for the price.

I can't say enough good things about my Bushwacker 270 awning. It is everything you could want or need for shade and weather protection. Friends and strangers all comment about how great it is, And we even put it out to sit under while cooking our Christmas dinner. A big thumbs up from me, shame I couldn't score it higher. Worth every dollar.
