“The device works, but PhoneSoap touts its ability to wirelessly charge your phone and then doesn't include the necessary cable. That's such a ridiculous omission that I emailed them to tell them it was missing from the box. (It never occurred to me they'd advertise wireless charging and not provide the requisite cable.) So it turns out if you read the fine print and parse it all, yes, the website says nothing about the cable being included. For the price of the PhoneSoap, you'd think they'd include a cable and save me the trouble of having to buy one. Disappointing.
Also, pretty big on the outside and not very big on the inside. Yes, I could get keys in there... if I took them off the key ring each time I want to sanitize. It's a tight enough fit the only thing I tried beside the phone were sunglasses, which didn't even come close.”
“I ordered my PhoneSoap Wireless on March 28, and although I expected it to arrive in late April, it got pushed out another month and I received it on May 29. It's perfectly understandable given the hardships Covid-19 has caused, and it was worth the wait (plus they threw in a PhoneSoap Shine as a gift due to the delay and that's been a nice little tool as well).
I have been using my PhoneSoap Wireless for the past few weeks and I am very pleased. It gives me peace of mind to know that my phone or keys or whatever item is sanitized. The 10 minute sanitizing time is also not a problem, since I certainly don't have any rush during the ongoing quarantine.
So far, my main issue is that I can't wirelessly charge my phone with its case on. I use the Otter + Pop Symmetry case with a built-in PopSocket, and the case itself really isn't that thick so I was surprised to find that I couldn't get a charge. I tried removing the PopSocket and also flipping the phone to be face-down, and still nothing. So far, the only thing that works is removing the case completely, which is fairly difficult since the case isn't very flexible. Plus, I would have to do two separate sanitizing cycles each time (one for the phone and one for the case), and I don't feel like going through that. I chose the PhoneSoap Wireless specifically for its wireless charging function, so it's disheartening that I can't easily take advantage of that function. Had I known this would be the case, I would have purchased the PhoneSoap 3 or Pro so that I could at least get a color that matches my personal style. Even so, I am glad that I can still sanitize while using a charging cable. The other disappointment is that I cannot fit my AirPods case into the PhoneSoap chamber, so I can only sanitize the AirPods themselves, but not the case. But again, this is an easy fix and I can just wipe the case down with a disinfectant wipe.
Overall, I'm still very pleased with the number of commonly used items that I can fit into the PhoneSoap chamber. Eventually, I may decide to upgrade to the HomeSoap so I can sanitize larger items too, but for now, I am satisfied. The only thing I would do differently is switching to the PhoneSoap 3 or Pro, as I mentioned.”
