“I recently purchased three types of pond plant: Purple Fan Iris, Dwarf Blue Bells, and Yellow Monkeyflower. The day I received them (~ 1 week ago), I planted them in a wetland/bog area the catches the overflow of my pond. This area is flooded with about an inch of water at night when the circulation pump is off and wet to about 2 inches below grade when pump is running. The roots are always in contact with water. The iris and bluebells are doing great. The monkeyflower plants, on the other hand, have withered and appear dead. I checked one plant and found the roots were saturated. I have no explanation for the problem.”
