“The filter is excellent. Running the filter, using the blower, rinsing, and backwashing is not a big deal, I just need to know how to clean the filter media.”

Hey Aldo - The process of using the blower, rinsing and backwashing the filter is how the filter media is cleaned. If you've got that down, then you're doing it already! The remaining color that you see on the media is evidence of the good bacteria that is growing on it, and is helping to keep your pond healthy.

“I've very impressed with the AlphaNano filters filtration capability. I know they are new this year but after talking with the folks at Play It Koi and GC Tek I decided to go this route due to the much-improved surface area of the new Nano beads and the fact that it's the same body as the AlphaOne units which my friend has been running succesfully now for 10+ years.
