“Atlantic created well-thought out skimmer boxes that can act as your pond's intake skimming the water of floating debris. Further, they made maintenance a snap with easy to install, remove and clean the box. On various models, they have drill points for multiple discharges, overflow of your pond and even a space for an auto fill valve. They also have matching biofilter weir waterfall housing matched to the skimmer boxes if you need everything. In my own pond, I already had a mechanical filter on the bottom and its own plumbing and pump to a biofilter and waterfall. I never had a skimmer, but with a recent liner change, it was time (especially since I am surrounded by trees!). I kept this system separate from my main pump and purchased a TT-Series submersible pump, a triton check valve, an auto-fill valve, and an overflow - all designed to work within this skimmer box. Not only will I have a much cleaner pond with much less work on my part, but I have created a backup system to my main pump. Should I have my main pump offline, this will continue to clean and circulate my water keeping my fish safe during the downtime.”
