Back ordered a free drum and got it three weeks early because someone changed their order. Staff was more than helpful throughout process. Instructions are vague but exactly how it needs to be installed. Took a few weeks for it to remove organics from my system because I had mat filters that I cleaned every other day previously. Water is crystal clear, fish are more active and best of all.. now I just add water to keep up with evaporation. Not saying it keeps me from maintaining system, just that it’s 90% less than it was. The all stainless filter looks amazing and the controller is top of the line with easily programmed functions. You can let it run automatically or run your own program if you think you can get it more efficient. The electronics are easily replaced with any available aftermarket switches making it a no brainer unlike other units ive seen. I would go as far as to say this unit is bulletproof if you are any good at basic trouble shooting. Id definitely recommend freedrum filters to anyone making an investment into this hobby as the top of the line mechanical filtration. That being said, you still need a biological filter on point for any system to work properly. I believe the gravity feed option to be the only useful way for this system to work as intended. Honestly you cannot beat this quality at this price point. I looked long and hard before pulling the trigger on the purchase. I hope this helps someone make a hard decision.
