Low Maintenance and High Functionality A flow-through filter is fed water by the pump in the pond. The filter is the highest point in the cleaning cycle, located above the water level. From this point the cleaned water then flows back into the pond via gravity, which allows for maximum oxygenation. Special filter foams work to mechanically collect debris, as well as biologically clean the water. After a period of time, within these foams several industrious microorganisms form and decompose of the excess nutrients in the water. The advantage to using a flow-through filter is that because they stand above the water surface at the edge of the pond, they are easy to access. Flow-through filters are ideal for medium-size and large ponds, or even for koi ponds. These flow-through filters are just another example of the innovative products offered by OASE so you can spend less time maintaining and more time enjoying your pond. For flow-through filters look at our BioSmart and BioTec Series. Oase BioSmart Filters are packed with features and filtration capacity. The high-surface area filter foams provide exceptional biological filtration capability in relation to its size. With features like built-in cleaning mechanism and water temperature gauge make Oase BioSmart Filters an excellent choice for smaller ponds with low fish load. DISTINCT FILTER ZONESBioSmart filters feature distinct zones that promote the settlement of the beneficial bacteria responsible for different phases of the nitrogen cycle, increasing the conversion of harmful ammonia in the pond.BUILT-IN CLEANING MECHANISMNo need to remove or manually unclog the filter foams of the BioSmart filter. Simply shut off your pump, pull up on the built-in cleaning handles and drain the loosened debris through the built-in drain. Quick to do and this retains the beneficial bacteria that keep your pond healthy.ADVANCED FEATURESThe cleaning indicator, along with the temperature gauge and sludge drain are just some of the features that make BioSmart the most user-friendly and easy to maintain entry-level pond filter ever designed.
