“These people are mixed up! One side of the box said just three steps to install this. Step one: attach the cord to the unit. The other side of the box said that the cord was already attached to the unit. And then when I opened it it came with instructions that had 27 steps. None of them ever mentioned which way the pipes stick out, but it makes a big difference in the way you mount it. Seems like they could do a lot better job of reading their own stuff and trying it. It feels like the companies taking things for granted .The only reason I picked this brand is to make the installation easier, since the old one I had that was leaking after 20 years was the same brand.”

“I replaced my builder-grade Badger 1 (only 2 years old) for this, thinking that this Badger 5 would be quieter. Nope! This is just as loud if not louder. A note on installation: if you install this yourself and you own a dishwasher, make sure you remove the knockout plug on this unit that the dishwasher pipe connects to. Otherwise, your airgap will flood. Remove the knockout plug completely with a flat screwdriver and hammer, not a drill. The drill may not remove it entirely, and your airgap will flood.”
“Good value for the price. My house is 70 years old and this is its first garbage disposal. No problems at all with installation. If one is being retrofitted in an old house there will have to be electrical wiring & an outlet for the cord installed first. But no issues at all with any of this project.”
“It works well and has almost no noise in comparison to the old one I had. The only problem I had was with the wire. It has a plug while I don't have an outlet. I tried to release the cord so that I could connect it to my own wire from my old disposer, but it was sealed and I couldn't release it (in videos on YouTube you can open a small cover and release the wires, but now it's impossible). So I had to cut the plug and connect the wires to my old ones.”
“Exact replacement for broken disposal so replacement was easy. Cord is on the disposal already so there was no wiring. Took about 10 minutes to do the swap.”
