“Good value for the price. My house is 70 years old and this is its first garbage disposal. No problems at all with installation. If one is being retrofitted in an old house there will have to be electrical wiring & an outlet for the cord installed first. But no issues at all with any of this project.”
“Make sure that your disposal connection has an outlet if you buy this. Our connection did not have an outlet so we had to return this unit and purchase one of the same brand that could be connected by wire.”
“Full disclosure, I was replacing my existing InSinkErator (same model) with this new one after 14 years of dependable service. As a result, my install was easier than some because mounting parts are already in place and can be reused. I decided to replace my old unit because the interior was totally rusted but still working fine. My install actually took longer than the 15 minutes I envisioned because I found quite a bit of rust on the mounting ring I intended to reuse and decided to use the new one provided. I would give 5 stars to this disposer because it's a good performer at this price point but I took away 1 star because the galvanized parts and interior ultimately rusted badly after, I estimate, only 7 years or so. I would prefer stainless steel instead but it requires a jump up to 3/4 horsepower model which I don't need. Hey InSinkErator, what about a simple option at time of purchase, this 1/2 HP model with SS components and a modest price premium reflecting that option?Oh, one tip....I used the small scissor jack from my truck to gently lift and position the disposer leaving me with two hands to hold and twist the retainer ring. Plugged it in, done.UPDATE: 2 WEEKS after installation the nut and bolt in the center of the grinding plate is already rusted. Why galvanize most of the grinding assembly and use a crappy mild steel bolt/nut to hold it in ?Come on, the difference in cost for a mild steel vs a stainless steel nut and bolt is what? 5 cents at most.”
“i did not like that the warranty started on the manufacturing date and not the day i bought it ! the 3 year warranty is misleading !!! this product was manufactured in October 2022 and i bought it 21 january 2023 so i was already 3-4 months into the warranty so i only have 2 years and 8 months left of the 3 years and i just bought it! MISSLEADING PRACTICE”
“So my counter top and cabinet flooded when my dishwasher started to drain because the drain port on side was never punched out in factory. After a frustrating 2h of tinkering I finally figured it out. Product now runs and works like a champ!”
