Arrived in perfect condition, exactly as advertised. The mount is pretty common as this is a major brand, so if you're replacing a similar machine (even if it came from another company) you might not even have to replace the outlet in your sink (I didn't!).The cord is long enough to reach the outlet under most sinks (my previous disposal had much too long of a cord which got in the way). If you buy this from one of the "big box" stores, they charge (a lot) extra for the power cord, so having it come, already installed, was a real time-saver and money saver!I needed to re-do the plumbing under my sink (for unrelated reasons), so I also bought the installation/plumbing kit, but if you are happy with the existing pipes, you might just be able to swap this unit in.***** ONE THING TO KEEP IN MIND ***** If you are going to use this with a dishwasher, there is a step in the installation where you use a screw-driver and a hammer to punch-out a piece of plastic so your dishwasher can empty into the disposal. It's VERY EASY to do, but if you don't... the first time you run your dishwasher, you're in for a nasty surprise! If you don't have a dishwasher, it's ready right out of the box. I almost installed it without punching the piece out. Thankfully, I did at least look over the instructions before installing it! (lol)After I got it installed, I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it is, much quieter than the old one it replaced. I also liked that it is very stable, no vibrations at all. If they shake around, it will eventually loosen the pipes and you'll get leaks, but this model is smooth and didn't need a stand or bracing. For me, the cost of this disposal was less than the cost of having the home warranty company send someone out to repair the old machine. If you feel "handy" enough to swap one out, it's an easy project!

i had a 10-year old Badger that was just starting to leak from the bottom of the casing, so i bought a Badger 5 to replace it. it is working great so far. i have about 2 hours of use on it as of now. the install instructions are pretty good - they even include skip steps if you are replacing rather than installing new. the replacement process took about 30 min from prep to clean up - very easy. 2 things that i will mention: 1) if you like to scan quickly through instructions, pay special attention to the step if you have a dishwasher - you need to knock out a piece of plastic inside the dishwasher inlet on the disposal. very simple task, but easy to miss if you're scanning directions. 2) definitely use the o-ring/gasket that is supplied, which goes inside the outflow port. my other Badger did not have an o-ring, so i skipped it initially on my install of the new one. that did not go well when testing. it leaked of course. i pulled the outlet piping off, put the o-ring in, and zero leaks.

Nowhere in the instructions does it tell you there is a plug that needs to be removed with a punch if you have a dishwasher. Fortunately a YouTuber showed me how I installed it wrong and forgot to remove the plug, causing my dishwasher to overflow and flood my floor. Terrible installation instructions.

This disposal is the same brand I replaced after 17 years of use. After watching a YouTube video, I decided to install myself. I recommend viewing before install. All necessary components and removal tool are included except plumber’s putty, lighting and recommended tools, or any new upgrades (outlet). The instructions are so-so. You will need an adolescent or adult to assist. My disposal was hard wired, so I upgraded a plug-in outlet (also on YouTube). An assistant is needed to hold down the drain for flange install otherwise it’s a straight forward install. Additionally, the disposal weight is deceptive working in limited space under the sink. It took an hour plus to install. I had one interruption to replace a PVC fitting (my fault) and the new outlet replacement. I only rated this product four stars, but I do recommend this brand as a replacement or new install. I washed dishes right after install (make sure you knock out dishwasher plug if applicable).

The disposal works pretty well. Only jammed up a few times. Stopped working less than a month after the manufacturer's 2 year warranty ran out. Purchased Jan 25, 2022, warranty ran out on Jan 28, 2024. Disposal stopped working Feb. 20, 2024. Beware!

This is my second unit installation as I bought this unit back in November and installed it in my house. It has been working like a dream. The second unit I recommended for my neighbor and even bought it for him. I subsequently installed the unit in his house and both installations were quite easy if you follow the directions completely. The directions could be better as you have to jump around and work your way through foreign languages interspersed in the English directions. Plus there are several sections you may need to skip over, so follow closely. The unit has been functioning very well for our household of three.
