“What I like was also a puzzlement. I have replaced garbage disposals many years ago and KNOW they are a pain to get started but then you can rotate them to the position you want. This disposal has a retaining notch that the collar fits in that had me completely befuddled. Before I tried to installed it I looked it up on the internet and there is all kinds of advice to grind off the retainer notch, etc. BUT the retainer is a great assistant to getting the install started MUCH easier than in the past and then gets out of the way almost immediately as the seal compresses. The instructions don't mention that and those of us with "old knowledge" are confused. Once I figured it out, it was VERY easy to install and everything works great.”
“I was really surprised at this InSinkErator. I believe they make a top quality product. This Badger 5 disposal, while at a great price, turned out to be far nicer than I thought. It mounts really easy and can be replaced by anyone. The twist and lock feature takes away all the concern of holding the heavy thing up while mounting. Once installed, the disposal is very quiet (vastly compared to our old one). The only concern I have is with the spinning wheel choppers on the grinder. I just wonder how long the disposal will grind before one of the shafts on the wheel chopper breaks... time will tell.”
“It was delivered on time. However, the original product box and Styrofoam packaging inside was damaged. I was able to install it only using parts from the old one that I wanted to replace. After I salvage the old unit, it worked for me.”
