“Not super quality but not the worst either. The check valve does not inspire great confidence but the options out there are limited. Zoeller is a respected name in sup equipment. I would like to see better quality to counter the added complexity of a back up pump system.”

“This is a great little pump, but I have one modification that I would make to the installation. The standard installation of this pump with the supplied fittings calls for gluing the pump into a 1-1/2" PVC tee. The problem is, there is no way to remove the pump without cutting the PVC installation if you were to have a bad pump, and if the built-in, fifty-cent check valve/flap on the pump itself were to fail, there's no way to access it inside of the tee, even though it appears to be a replaceable part. So the pump is ruined. Instead, glue the pump into a 1-1/2" male threaded adapter that has been screwed tightly into a female threaded adapter glued into the tee. That way, if the pump needs to be removed for service, it can simply be unscrewed. Or if it goes bad, it could be replaced by a simple plug in the tee.”
