Very simple installation, anyone can do it. Best technology out there, I waas looking for battery backup systems and found this. Glad I did. At first I almost bought the Zoeller because I have a Zoeller sump pump, but read the reviews and found that this one is better. I used pex water lines with sharkbite type connectors to the pump, much easier than sweating copper. I took my existing check valve and put it after this, even thou it says it doesn't need it. I bought a new quiet check valve for my main pump because the Zoeller one I had made a loud thunking sound every time it operated and closed. Annoying!I put about 30 gallons of water in my sump pit and unplugged my main pump and watched this work. Very nice! I can sleep at nice now knowing I have some protection if the power fails or the main pump fails. My pit will fit in minutes during the spring if power goes out.

works great and definitely worth the money for the extra piece of mind it provides. Our electricity goes out frequently and so this was essential.Update: I've had this for about a year now. I re-affirm my 5 🌟 review.

This is a great and reliable back-up... much better than the battery operated one I had. My battery unit only lasted a short period and the battery died and couldn't recharge because there was no power.

Saw how this pump worked, when my main pumps floater got stuck, and this pump took over. What a relief, could have been a disaster.

So, this darn thing is more dependable than a battery system. No more worrying if battery is charge enough and it makes no noise. Only downside, definitely doesn't have the suction power as my standard pump. I used it with a 1/2" feed line which I'm sure reduces some of its ability.
