Worked out ok after a lot of planning and work. If you are installing in between floor joists as I did (9" x 14" area) I think the 2" vent would be easier. In fact if you are installing a boiler in your basement as I did, the easiest job would be to just run the two PVC pipes out the side and not use this vent. Also, I don't know about code concerning the intake side but it would have been near impossible to use PVC so I found this aluminum dryer vent kit at the hardware store. You need to put a PVC fitting on the intake vent as it isn't 4" and the dryer vent is, also use metal clamps. I used a 22.5 degree elbow to angle the dryer vent pipe over the exhaust pvc pipe. This should not be a problem as the intake doesn't carry heat.

Using it to connect a dessicant dehumidifier. Wish there were better ways to mount a strap to keep it from sliding in and out of the wall than using galanized strapping and worm-screw clamps on either side of wall protrusion. Any movement will break caulk seal after it's in place, and round wall thimbles aren't quite diameter-accurate enough to fit tight on the sch 40 pipe.
