Product works but You Tube video really helped with the installation. Printed directions are weak.

Works like a charm; lubed, it glides through the range of water mixes. But the customer support ruined the favorable impression. I called with a question. Was assigned a time for a callback, and it never happened. Who likes to waste time, be ignored?

This item worked but I had to make it work. I spent some time getting it installed but I finally got it to work.

Once you get the old one out it is easy to install and adjust. Removal of the old cartridge can be difficult if it has been there a long time.

Well, it took 20+ years but my shower head started dripping after I shut it off. Initially I could move the handle slightly and it would stop but teat "trick" only worked for a month or so. I decided if I was going to actually go to the trouble of shutting off water and dismantle the valve I was going to use a genuine Moen cartridge as there are aftermarket items available for slightly less money. After pulling the old, worn cartridge out of the valve (yes, they are often stuck and require a bit of force and a removal tool) I noticed the new cartridge had one less rubber "O" ring. I called Moen and they confirmed the new part was correct and came with no O-ring on the back side of the cartridge. I was also informed Moen would have supplied the cartridge free under warranty. I knew of this possibility but unsure of time required for delivery so went ahead and purchased the replacement. The advice given must have been true as the new cartridge easily installed, read the detailed instructions, with no leaks or drips. The hardest part of the whole job was removing the stuck handle that was corroded to the adapter after 20 years.

I bought this on plumbingsupplyandmore, since it was a few dollars less than plumbingsupplyandmore. Shipping was prompt. Bought both the 1222 cartridge and the appropriate Moen cartridge puller (also on plumbingsupplyandmore). Appeared to be OEM, though the quality didn't seem to be the same as other cartridges that I've used in the past. Instructions are sketchy. Refer to You Tube for help, and I suggest watching a few different installation videos. It is important to note, that the current version of the cartridge suggests that after installing the cartridge, turn the stem locator notch so that it faces down (so that it will be in the off position). Also, as an FYI: the Moen 1222 and the 1222B are the same cartridge. Don't know why the same cartridge is marketed under different model numbers. (The "B" in 1222B supposedly stands for bulk). The 1222B is sold for a few dollars cheaper.
