Bought this product for my handyman who claims he needs it to do his job relating to plumbing problems.

Removing the old cartridge is the most difficult part of replacement. You will likely need to use a special tool to remove the old cartridge -- at least both of the ones I replaced were firmly stuck in the faucet. I got the tool from a local hardware store, but they are also available on plumbingsupplyandmore. I highly recommend watching any of the Youtube videos on replacing this cartridge, as well as the one on the Moen web site, before attempting this yourself. Be sure to use the included lubricant on the new cartridge. Or if you don't feel comfortable with this replacement after watching the videos, just call a plumber.

Pulling old cartridge was tough but not this product problem. It was easy to insert new one after removing deposits with wire brush. However water continued to drip even after replacement but much slower (a drop per minute). So I removed the cartridge again and replaced the three O-rings with new (I had spare) ones. This was unnecessary.Still same leaking - no change in dripping. I gave up as it was already an hour I kept the water supply was shut-off to whole house.Surprisingly water dripping stopped overnight. It has been 3 days of regular use of faucet, no more dripping.I have done cartridge replacement in my house before but this never happened. I should have waited little longer. At the end goal achieved with little stress.

Second time I've replaced the cartridge on our Moen - we're getting about six years. I did not need the extraction tool, maybe if it was in there longer? Came out relatively easily with pliers. Their video is pretty good, but they gloss over the temperature limit piece - I ended up just removing it because it must have been set for no limit.Second issue was they tell you to turn the valve a certain way before reassembly - with the position being a notch - but there appears to be a "notch" on both sides. It's not very clear - I was 180 degrees wrong, so I had to shut water back off and flip it.Significantly cheaper here than at the big box store.

Works well. It stopped my leaking shower after I installed it. Installation can be very challenging. I wasted money on a knock off version that still had the shower leaking after installing. Then I bought this one and it worked. It's a bit pricey, thus the 4 star rating.

I'm not sure what size I'm supposed to get but the pin I removed from the old one had a hard time going back in with this new cartridge. I spent hours taking it out & luring it back in thinking somethings getting caught but I just think it's the wrong size. (Not sure) ended up doing alota research and used a paper clip for the time being. So far so good.

Product as described, but quite expensive for what you get.
