“I have been using the elite usa 90 for 10yrs, had problem with one piece bent and powerblock helped me there so i can use again, thank you! Still these 100lb each version intrigued me and was debating these or the commercial pro 175 set. To me it made sense to get these if I could use a barbell, given they were highest weighted ones could use one with to make it worth it, for me. Then looking on site seen they were going to release a barbell stand so it seemed like fate, otherwise i would of bought the other i think. Using bars gets me excited to workout and don't like inconvenience of a gyms.
Design and materials are lil different, hope they last good, from what I've seen of powerblock they do. I do wish they also had the weight selecting diagram like the elite usa 90s showed with and without adder weights each level so you dont have to think when switching weight, be cool if they sold like a sicker to go over it. If you can, get the tpr ones first then can get knurled pieces after as you cant do opposite. Really wish i knew this as liked the tpr grips, I wish you could buy just the tpr handles to make up for this...
They are lil bigger than the 90s and dont have the wrist locked in as much which I think is a plus, frees wrist so some exercises variations are now easier and available to do again, feels more natural and less confined with movements, as well as putting grips on it for forearms should be a lot easier now. At 20lbs dumbells shift lil in hand testing out first time, scared me they weren't balanced but using higher weight It didn't happen, idk just a weird note on that lower weight but I love them. Other side note is to keep them horizontal on their base like intended even inbetween sets as think putting them vertically on ground or resting on thighs between sets didnt help the 90s stay aligned and straight, i never dropped them but those shipped from Amazon powerblock site with problem I should of sent back and over time bent more so keep that in mind when using to keep them working properly in future and order straight from powerblock site.
To some the adder weights and pins are a deal breaker as you have to take the time to pull pin out and then change them. To me its a lot faster than what used to have to do before using adjustable dumbells and not that hard to do at all, come on what else are you going to do inbetween sets, just sit there!? Also less moving parts so they last longer sounds better to me than having a dial do everything for me and more chance of breaking or wearing out.
In all its looks and feels like a great dumbell upgrade, though i may end up using solely with the barbell and ezbar, and older set with dumbells until can get the commercial pro 175s...hoping.”
“Love the flat sides that don't dig into your thighs when you are benching heavy. East of adjustment and the 2.5 & 5 lbs weight increments make increasing load easy for this 61 year olds shoulders!”
“I really love the pro 100s. I use them almost daily and they are really easy and quick when needing to change the weight. My only complaint is the grips are way too big for my hands to grip correctly, so I get cramping when I need to use heavier weights for my sets. I have to use lifting straps to keep my grip around them. I wish there would have been an option to get the smaller 32mm grip ones without having to make another purchase of those.”
“These are my new, favorite, weightlifting equipment. They are so versatile in space. What makes it so impressive is this company is very responsive in customer support. I am the biggest fan of blocks. More people need to know about them.”
“Hands down, without a doubt, the single best piece of equipment I have in my basement gym. This single set takes the place of every dumbell available in a commercial gym from 5-100lb... (5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5... seriously, 38 weight combinations!!!) For a home/basement/garage gym the Pro100 EXP is the ultimate space saver, but it doesn't do it cheaply, these are very well constructed & durable.
I researched every modular dumbell on the market and am glad I finally pulled the trigger on the Power Blocks. I'd rate them 10 stars, but I'm only allowed five. Worth every penny. Pick some up for your gym, you won't be disappointed.”
“I love this set. I wish there would have been an option to choose a different handle size. I would have went with the 32mm. Now I have to order separately.”
